The tyre warmers finally came off for the first official practice sessions of the new A1 Grand Prix season and Team Pakistan’s Adam Khan was ready to take on the Brands Hatch circuit.
With the first session hampered by three Red Flags and rain clouds looming overhead, Khan still managed to present a solid performance finishing 16th out of 25 teams with a time of 1’18.932, just 2.4 seconds behind the pace setting Team USA.
Adam’s introduction to motor sport came just three years ago and in this time has shown his natural ability on the track, never more so with the change in conditions between sessions.
Improving on his position from the first session, moving up four places to 12th, Adam said; “I was glad to improve on my standing from the first session even though the weather had turned against us and the conditions were challenging. It’s been good to test the car in both dry and wet conditions.”
Commenting on A1 Team Pakistan’s debut in A1 Grand Prix and youngster Adam Khan, Asim Husain, Operations Director of A1 Team Pakistan said; “Adam is becoming more and more confident as he familiarises himself with the set-up of the car working with Super Nova and the rest of the team. We have had a really positive start to the season and we are all really looking forward to tomorrow’s qualifying.”
