Position in the light of Islam of---------

Dear Readers, Hi,

Do you think if some one has given me some present-a most precious or a cheap one very dear to me, that gift in my eyes; and in my families eyes and some other person comes and snatches or tries to snatch from me.

What is the position or status, of my gift’s snatcher in the light of Islam and in the eyes of God? How would God react with such a person on the day of judgement?

Please throw light through reference to context of acceptable Ahadeez , and Aayates from Quran. Thanks and regards Sokoon

Sokoon, if your gift was stolen, then this applies:

It is absolutely Haram to steal from another Believer, because all his blood, his honour, his wealth and property is sacred!

“And (as for) the male thief and the female thief, cut off (from the wrist joint) their (right) hands as a recompense for that which they committed, a punishment by way of example from Allaah" * Surah al-Maa’idah* 5:38

The Prophet also accepted the pledge of the women, when they made the Pledge of Allegiance to him, that they would not steal, as Allaah says:

“that they will not steal…” Surah al-Mumtahinah :12.

Also, the Nabi Sallallaahu 'Alayhi Was-Sallam said:

“May Allaah curse the thief.” Narrated by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim.

As for the Day of Judgement:

It was narrated that Abu Humayd al-Saa’idi said: The Messenger of Allaah said:

“By Allaah, none of you takes something that is not rightfully his but he will meet Allaah carrying it on the Day of Resurrection. I shall certainly recognise some of you coming to meet Allaah carrying a camel bellowing, or a cow mooing, or a sheep bleating.”

Then he raised his hand so high that I could see the whiteness of his armpit and said, “O Allaah, have I conveyed (the message)?”

Narrated by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim.

ofcourse that wud apply to material things not abstract things....

Dear Touheed and Armughal,

Thanks for the answers, but the present was not stolen; as stolen means that it has been picked by some one in my absence. In this case, the person has tried to take and later took(snatched) it in my presence , my family members' presence and infront of my all friends and well wishers, as well as my community as a whole.
Also let me tell you it is a material thing.I am asking this question to know the position of the snatcher of my present. I would gether the replies and then I would like to show all your replies to the snatcher, and I would prove to him and his collegues, his community through your replies that HE never had right to snatch my present at all and he must return it to me. Justice must prevail. Thanks and Regards
Sokoon

So they snatched it and took it without your permission?

That is stealing isn't it? As you didn't give the person permission to take it. And if a Muslim takes another thing from another Muslim, he shoud ask permission and until the permission is granted, he can not take anything belonging to another Muslim, for the simple reason, the Messenger of Allaah has told us the blood, the honour, the wealth and property of a Believer is SACRED!

Why did they take it from you anyway?

Strange.

Dear At-Towheed,

The good thing is that the snatchers are muslims and in real story the owner is not muslim. Since you started telling that rules for muslims, or punishments for muslims are different from non muslims. Is it what you mean?
