Does anyone know how to make the portuguese lemonade you get at nandos?!
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
MMMmmmm ull have to pass on their recipie!!! ....
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
This is the one that i usually follow, it's a spanish recipe... sometimes i use one lemon and one lime, but the most important thing is that you blend them whole! :)
Ingredients:
2 limes or lemons, quartered and any seeds removed
8 cups of cold water
Approximately ½ cup of sugar, more or less based on your preference
Ice cubes as desired
Preparation:
Place the quartered limes or lemons in the blender with 4 cups of water and sugar.
Blend until the limes or lemon is completely pulverized, the mixture should be slightly foamy with a whitish color.
Strain the lemonade and add the remaining 4 cups of water.
Serve with or without ice based on individual preference.
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
Hey Maroush...... thanks sooo much!!!!!!!!!! Now I can have my bric and brac sale with freshly made lemonade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
De nada… nothing like a cool glass of lemonade to enjoy in the summer ![]()
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
Maroush, 2 questions for you:
a) Is that a subtle way of admitting that you dine at Nando's?
b) Does the lemonade taste bitter bcos of the skin?
But this isn't the same one you get at nandos?!
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
Rupay yaar what is wrong with going to Nandos?
I go to Nandos too!
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
What is Nandos?
Nothing, as long as you are black and live in Balham.
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
I am not black and I do not live in Balham, now what:bummer:
Kill yourself???
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
LOL no way
a) RH, you know me better than that
… actually i have been there once or twice… it tastes like microwave meals…or the “vacPac” dehydrated meals we got in the military when on missions… ![]()
b) The above recipe is from one of my hubby’s spanish friends… that’s how they make limonada in Spain… i thought adding the whole fruit would make the drink a little bitter, but it tastes just right to me as i don’t like it too sweet… very flavourful…you can adjust the sugar as you please ![]()
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
lol, maroush, u been caught out!
Actually, I am a secret Nando's person, its very handy to have some freshly grilled halal chicken when u don't want indian food when u r out. The olives r nice.
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
My friend loves Nandos-I still haven't been!!!
What's most popular and what should I try when I do get there?!Judging by the request for the lemonade recipe I should try that at least...
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
See RH, if i want halal food that’s not desi, i usually go to a lebanese (maroush
), turkish, morroccan etc type of place… tastes so much better than the cardboard at nando’s… their coleslaw is ok though… ![]()
Princess: They have chicken…and uhm…chicken… ![]()
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
good thing I do not have to worry about halal haram here:cb:
Re: Portuguese Lemonade
Princess, they have chicken and chicken and chicken and more chicken.
They put the nando's sauce (which is really nice hot n sour) on it, then grill. The following 3 things are nice, nando's sauce, chicken and olives.
All the rest is rubbish, maroush, the coleslaw is NOT ok (thats what i think anyway). The rice is old cooked and bland.
