I know somebody in Karachi, who has a 2004 Ferrari (cannot remember which one), and a diablo. But I will not mention the name.
I’ve seen 911 Turbo in Lahore. My friend has once - imported from Dubai - very very expensive.
By the way, few months ago there was this race/car show on Mall Road in Lahore. People from across the country brought in their nice rides. Alot of nice cars were present. Ferraris, Lambos, Mercs, Beemers, Jags, and I think I saw one Dodge Viper.
hmm.. well i agree.. its their money.. and they can choose where to spend.. bt the point comes down to.. HOW DID THEY GET THAT MUCH MONEY???..
well not sayin that all of em are theives.. bt i can say.. majority are.. who rip off.. or steal.. and just like many will steal the Earth Quake Releif money...
but the sad thing is.. the average pakistani doenst wana do anything to change this corruption.. becuase if law and order is put in place.. it is these average pakistanis who will complain of "unfairness"..
Sure you can drive a Porsche in Pakistan but then you have to hire 2 bodyguards to protect it. Since Porches are roadsters where the heck you are going to put those body guards? On the roof I guess?
Dude, when was the last time you were in Pakistan.
Its not the avg Pakistani, but mostly the upper class Pakistanis, especially the industrialists and those working for the government who are corrupt. This doesn’t necessarily mean that all of the upper class is corrupt.
People have this wierd idealogy: they think all of Pakistan is corrupt when they look at one Pakistani. Its not the majority, its the minority.
If you goto Lahore you will see so many people driving Mercs & Beemers & importing Lexus’ and such cars from the mid-east. Pakistan’s economy is booming right now - it has the 2nd highest growth rate in Asia. The middle-class is getting wealthier. These things are expected in a booming economy.
