My hypothesis is that plenty of men (not all) like to watch porn - doesn't matter if they are muslim or christian or hindu or aetheist. So limiting this discussion to muslim men, just because someone believes that muslim men have some how gotten over their sexual desires or should kill their natural desires is inane. Splendidly fantastic idea, but impractical nonetheless. I won't even begin to offer any solutions here. You guys are far more intelligent than that.

By the same token, I am sure you all realize that there are plenty of married muslim women who have huge folders on their computers full of sex stories, pornographic pictures blah blah. What do you make out of that? Is this a religious issue? Is this a gender issue?

Its probably just a human issue.

i so totally agree with you. For women its all that lovey dovey talks that men do with them that triggers sexuality in them..but this is not the case with men. I agree with you .. As the saying goes.. " men fall in love through his eyes , women through her ears. "

I reckon lot of stuff children are exposed to these days is highly in-appropriate. For instance, most commonly media showing homosexual relationship and life style akin to normal healthy life style. Which to me is highly in-appropriate for kids to watch, but they are doing it 24/7 (in western countries)

Lets take a hypothetical scenario :

**Scenario #1 **
husband watches porn and wife knows

**Scenario #2 **
husband is seeing this another girl and spending lots of time with her (wife knows )

Scenario #3
husband is involved in some extra-marital affair which is physical. (wife knows about it )

**Scenario #4 **
husband is getting married after an affair and taking a second wife ( first wife knows about it)

Now tell me which situation is least desireable for a woman's point of view ???

Now hareem bibi can provide you with a freshly baked fatwa that the most un-wanted situation for most muslim women , Islam does not have a problem with it !

If you find first situation as disgusting then how would you describe the 2nd 3rd and 4rth situation. Mind you just like watching porn , these other situations are quite common in muslim society. You can very well testify that; since you are quite social.

The counsellors has rightly identified the reason. And offered one sollution, but there are many other workable sollutions out there one needs to apply brain.

Some years after marraige, graph of intimacy plunges into a nose dive ... And husband and wife find each other boring... a husband/ wife can easily spice up there lives.

  1. wife can stay in shape and keep husband in shape too
  2. if wife is out of shape then make sure your husband is elder brother of humpty dumpty, otherwise if husband is fairly handsome and wife is humpty dumpty then you should hear the alarm bell ringing loud and clear.
  3. Wife can buy and wear skimpy cloths for husband and do kinky stuff in their privacy. (hint : fantasy ; super man , cat woman role play, doctor patient , nurse doctor, etc ... sorry but my imagination is little too fantastic )

This is only for my muslim brethren and sisters. Allah SWT tells us to lower our gaze infront of each other and be respectful. This is enough indication about the status of watching porn. I will not say any more. Being married is not a license to satisfy your sexual desires in a way that violate the fundamentals of ethics in Islam. Only your wife is permissible for you in any sort of sexually oriented relationship whether it be only watching ofcourse medical reasons are an exception.

But what if a freaky guy after getting married twice or thrice or even fourth time still wants to watch porn which is haram, then?

Second scenario which is more common, what if the person cannot afford second marriage, what should he do?

Your case might be an exception ( considering you are honest here). I am 110% sure that for *most *muslim women, it is least desirable option to see another women in her husband's life, as a legally wedded wife. That is why i said

I have already elaborated in detailed, that husband watching porn is such a trivial issue that a wife can easily make him change his habit by spending qulity tiime together .. but siince it was long post so you might have missed here again
