For a number of weeks now, I’ve been getting a lot of ‘porn advances’ in my Bulk Folder. Kam-az-kam 20 advances daily, It’s really getting out of hand! I’ve managed to block a lot of them but the block limit is set to 100 websites only.
Hazraat any tips as to what I can do about the rest? Can’t be bothered to delete those sites on a daily basis.

Why do you care about what is in your bulk folder?
It doesn't count toward your storage capacity anyway.
Or are you afraid that some of the authentic mails are getting "lost" in the bulk folder?
Personally if you ask me, hotmail sucks. Yahoo is way much better (i only use msn for messenger but even there yahoo can give you the run for their money). Yahoo is even better in some respects to Gmail but oh well Gmail is still in development mode! :)

I think that is for bulk messages that you end up receiving in the inbox!
Why would you say report as junk in a junk folder anyway?

use yahoo mail or gmail .. quit hotmail.

I don't know why people are still stuck with hotmail :-/ ... if you wanna use msn then simply register your email address with passport [any domain ... mail.com, yahoo.com, gmail.com, anything] and then you can use msn ... I quit hotmail once my account got locked, after that I registered my gmail account and goodbye hotmail :D

Anyone who says that Yahoo is better than Hotmail, when it comes to spam, is probably just talking from their own experience. Mine is completely opposite.
I have three Hotmail accounts and two Yahoo accounts. Two of those Hotmail accounts are completely spam free. The two Yahoo accounts are spammed immensly even though I have never given out any of these accounts to anyone. The one Hotmail account I keep for spamming purposes, so any time, a website asks me for my email account thats the one I give out and, naturally, it gets spammed a lot.
Moral of the story: Yahoo is as bad, if not worse, when it comes to selling your email address. Just get a new Hotmail account (or Gmail or whatever) and don't give it out on any webforms etc. Keep the current Hotmail account solely for spammers and filling out webforms.

i just deleted about 2000 spam emails from my spam inbox but then again i got 80 spam emails in few mins. :smack:

I have turned on junk/bulk folders (with both yahoo and hotmail) in the past and every once in a while an important & legit email would end up there for whatever reason. It maybe me but I would rather manually delete 10,000 spammed emails than losing one legit email. I don't do any spam filtering anymore.

No matter what email you use it gets spammed. I have several domains and some stupid spammer, spammed with [email protected] and I got more than 3000 replies bounced back as "Failure Notice" (filtered by my mail server).
I have one Yahoo, one hotmail & one gmail & one gawab. Only Gawab is the one I use for filling in webforms & amazingly it doesn't receive as much as spam as I expect. Irconically I get spam on all email address including my person emails (with my own domains, though I have an automated service that it forwards each spam message to ftc.gov informing them about spam with full header).

Well spamwise, yes Yahoo and hotmail both get spammed but Yahoo has more space and hence lesser chance of getting "locked out" than Hotmail with just 25 mb coverage!

Anyway, I don’t have such problem with mine (though it could be that I don’t give the address too much out unlike my yahoo one).
Gmail is still behind yahoo in many things especially when sending emoticons to people!

Sorry boys been away. It's my yahoo account and not hotmail. Infact hotmail doesn't give me any problems. So I take it there is no likely remedy? Spam Guard is on, I always report junk, block list is full ahhhhhhh....
