i never insulted any woman of my country in the above post...i respect them very much.... i have just given the psycholioical reason why Sony and Star Plus dramas are so popular among Pakistanis specially women...although they have not script..story and powerful actors..they have just beatiful faces of men and women..mostly the blessings of make-up kit from Paris...and millions of Rs. on drama sets....

Dhoop Kinarai

and now compare these wonderful dramas with
*Jassi jaisi koi nahi
*Ik larki anjani see

DOODH KA DOODH, PAANI KA PAANI !!
It seems like the greatest fan of Indian soaps in pakistan is ..........no ponits for guessing..."PATHER_MAREY_DIL"......It is clearly evident that he has seen more Indian soaps than anyone else in this post and then he is blaming poor pakistani females for watching them....................such a jenani hypocrat.
Mere Bhai.........Please recognise the fact that pakistani is crazy abt Indian soaps and so are you, regardless of the content of the soaps(which sucks, i agree with you) !!
Re: Popularity of saris soars in Pakistan thanks to Indian TV soaps.
nope..i dont see them..but i have quick observation about them by seeing one or two episodes.....

Tusi gr8 ho,.......mein kehnda tusi Khuda ho...................considering the tactics the Indian soap producers use to project a simple event in eight different episodes, you have the power to analyse all the Indian soaps by watching a couple episodes...................Sirjee, either you have super human powers to do that or you are lying................on top of that you are referring to Allah for no reeason or rhyme. Allah se toh dar, jooth bolney sey pehley.
Well, I am really impressed with all the repetitive events you have brought out and happens in soaps..........just to add some to the list
1. Ppl die and come back to life again
2. Double roles keeps popping up
3. Marriage and divorce and marriage.....
You have already mentioned the bad affects of Indian soaps........few good things abt them.......
1. Awareness of culture and festivals among desis.
2. Whole of India is being brought on one page...for example Karva Chauth was only being celebrated by certain small section of the Hindu community but after these soaps almost all the festivals are celebrated by almost everyone in India and abroad.
3. Family values are being promoted.........PPl have more respects for their daughter-in-laws than before.
4. It heads the fashion trends among desi females.
Funny true story, Off the hook......
Just recently, I was speaking with one of the pakistani friends here in US and he told me that his family was addicted to Indian soaps like crazy........He told me that his father used to say that Indians have planned this SAASHISH of telecasting soaps to pakistani public so pakistani ppl lose their mind.........LOL......I thought that was really funny.......On the positive note atleast the family gets together in front of the TV for few hours........:)
Re: Popularity of saris soars in Pakistan thanks to Indian TV soaps.
Purely subjective! I've not seen this Pirzadah woman, but I know that wheN i wear something beautiful, I feel like a million bucks. I may not look stunning to anyone else, but I feel it and that's what matters the most....
Both shalwar kameezes and saris can either be elegant or they can be lewd and radiate negative energy. Maybe the only saris you've seen are the ones on TV with women wearing blouses that resemble nothing less than just bras. I'm sure you also know that shalwar kameezes can be just as revealing, with no sleeves and capri shalwars. And if you still don't find those as disgraceful as saris, then that just shows your own personal bias against anything that happens to come from India..which judging by your posts in the past, this is where your post is coming from :)
Revealing or non-revealing is a different topic altogther...
I'm talking from a purely aesthetic perspective, to me Saari is a very ungraceful dress, very ugly, very unsophisticated, very archaic and backward... It looks hideous.
You don't have to agree with me but that's my opnion and most guys I know agree it's very unattractive and unsexy.
Maybe our perception of Saaris has something to do with the Saari wearing Indian women we grew up seeing outside the local Swami Naraayan Temple, and trust me they look nothing like the doe-eyed "Mandir Mein Ghantiyan Bajaaney Waaleen" on Star or Zee, the real ones look like a greasier Condoleeza Rice and smell of a combination of Farts and Heeng (Asafetida)..

So then what is the "negative energy" that you were referring to?

Aesthetic perspective is at best purely subjective. You may find them unattractive, me and many others don't.

It's not really a matter of whether I agree with you or not, but rather that if an Indian came and said shalwar kameez was ugly, unsophisticated, backwards etc, i'm sure you and everone here would give him crap over it and call him hateful among other things (hateful being the "cleanest") for insulting our cultural dress. So.....why are you any different? I know this is a Pakistani forum but that doens't give you any right to degrade someone else's culture/religion/looks** no matter what.** You don't have to marry an Indian but you needn't have so much nafrat towards em :D
Re: Popularity of saris soars in Pakistan thanks to Indian TV soaps.
aiadhai which khuda wali kee gal aai…While watching one episode…a common man can easily guess about the over all scenario of what actually the calibre of the drama…and actors performance…etc etc…
And i know about the history of india and hindus a little bit…so i can guess thier techniques they also used in dramas..not so difficult…Challaki..makkari…nit nai tareeqai…etc etc…is mai khudai ka dawa kha sai a gaya… ???
The few things you mentiod good…i totally opposed them…
1.Pakistani culture is very much different from that of indian culture so deisi living abroad think hat we hindus and muslims are same ..only religion is different…we were same also in 1947..Jinnah divided us..we could live happily with each other…and etc etc…this mentality is more dangerous than anything…and consequences of this is realy very poisonous…lets see the Gujrati Muslims of india…anbd you will know that…or look at Justice Rana Bhagvandas..today the most powerful man of Pakistan…
2,We muslims have only 2 events ..that eids…and nothing else…we dont care about other religion’s cultural rituals and customs at all…We Pakistanis and muslims are unique and must remain as a unique…we dont like hindu muslim blend…not at all…
3.Islam gives respect women from 1400 backs…while satti ritual of burning alive still being practised in some very narrow-minded areas of india…so islam is far far better in respecting women than any other religion…
4.Its not fashion that these indian soaps are promoting…its Baihiyyai…and Fahashi…and Uryani…that are the hall mark of indian soaps…PTV old dramas were very decent ..powerful story and no vulgarity at all…Thats why when in 80’s the famous drama WARIS went on air at PTV..the streets of Amratsar and **Delhi **became empty due to watching that…but unfortunately we have lost this status now…
because many deisi and pakistanis families have lost thier roots…they are ignorant..who see all that while sitting toghether…there are sometimes vulgur dialogues and scenes…i dont know how father and daughter sitting toghether …see all that…shameful…
if this gathering spot of families…1000 salams to such gatherings, better not to gather …
