Indian media is really ultra-secular. Pope is dead and all media, news channels are reporting the incident as a great personal loss for India and mankind.
Today no channel or news paper has mentioned the controversy he created in India in 1999.
In 1999 during his visit to India, the Pope exploited the Indian hospitality for making Christian claims…in first millennium we evangelized Europe, in second millennium Africa and now in third millennium it is the turn of Asia.

A CALL BY Pope John Paul II, made during his three-day visit to New Delhi, for the evangelization of Asia has provoked mixed reactions in India. A prominent Hindu nationalist has accused the pope of abusing “the hospitality that India has extended to him” and of planning to try to convert India to Christianity. At the same time, Asian church leaders have played down the pope’s calls for such evangelization.
