I would not use Pomace oil. it's chemically extracted from the solid bits of olive left after the good oil is pressed out. It has the same characteristics of Canola oil but it is expensive than canola.

Extra virgin has a very low smoke point and it is has fruity flavor best to be used in salad dressing, dips or light cooking. For desi style food it is best to use pure olive oil. If you do cook with extra virgin be sure not to burn it during cooking.
