Poll: President Musharraf's Performance Rating

RealDeal and NYA, why cant you accept the fact that hes getting a decent response from the guppers... Now dont tell me this is a rigged poll... The people have viewed your views as being incorrect, so learn to respect them please.

Dealing with Eastern and Western border and coping with the situation of Extremists, at the same time, is not an easy task!!

Musharraf, as a military person, may not be the good choice for Pakistan but under the circumstances, I don’t see anyone who dare to take quick and precise decisions.

Musharraf, despite of being a soldier, is able to handle tough and criticla situation better than Nawaz and Benazir.

Go Musharraf :k:

I say, turn the LoC into international border, cut the defence spending by 60%, exile all the generals :D turn the GHQ into sheltor for homeless , hang all the crooks politicans, all problems in Pakistan will be solve.

Any takers?

Don’t compare UK with Pakistan in politics.

When a train ran over a cow in UK, the Minister for Railways resigned.
In Pakistan when ex-Minister for Interior was asked why he did’nt stop his party workers from attacking the Supreme Court, he said, I tried but no one listened to me. Yet he ramained the Minister for Interior till the Government was sacked.

Dude, he's dead

Hmm breaking bones and Idhar hum udhar Tum.
ZAB was Ayub Khans protege, the same way NS was Zia's protege. The Army wanted someone who they could control in NS's case. In ZAB's case well he outsmarted them but then became to arrogant.

The fact is despite being a army govt and having the power of the lathi. Mush hasn't achieved anything major domestically. The poor or poorer, taxes are higher and the people are more desperate. Forex reserves and high stock markets only make a difference to a small minority.

Without the pressures of politicians and with the power of the Army, Mush hasn't been even able to clean up the Police or WAPDA.
With his consent, he has created political parties, rigged the local body elections and held a farcial referendum, sadly he has also made political allies with the chors in both PPP and PML, mostly because of their Army connections.

I think Musharraf has done pretty good so far. The kind of damage our economy and the country on the whole has suffered will obviously take time. Other then that if we look at the steps the musharraf regime has taken with respect to the advancement in technology then some of them are extremely good. A month back State Bank made it mandatory for all banks to be online. Online as in being able to handle and process transactions in real time. As of now there are around 9-10 banks in Pakistan that are connected online, with this mandate all scheduled banks of Pakistan will now be online and this step would lead to customer convenience and eventually will lead to streamlining the financial industry and will act as a catalyst for the development of ecommerce in Pakistan.

This is just one example that i am quoting here and i am sure there are loads more, the thing is we need to watch every step that is being taken that can lead to the development of our country. He might not be the perfect man to be heading the country but he seems to be the best amongst what we have available.

After what we have seen over the years and what our leaders have been doing to us it is very natural for us to be a bit skeptical about him too, but then we wouldn't know unless we have tried, i guess we will always be an optimistic nation looking forward to the very long awaited prosperity of our country. I just hope we all get to witness it soon inshaAllah

For now lets wait, watch and pray :)

Hmmm History lesson needed Zakk. Wasn't ZAB appointed Zia as a COAS of Pakistan after suspending 5 Generals?

It will take time to lower the taxes. Because of raise in tax, Pakistan has forex reserves of 8 bn$. It would make a different to a small minority. Exports are picking up because of forex reseves.

** Mush hasn't been even able to clean up the Police or WAPDA.**

I'd go for NAB also, which can't sue Army men.
