Political crisis discussed by army commanders

Why are they discussing political crisis? Aren’t politicians there to tackle this crisis. I wonder what their reaction would be if NS discuss the performance of these commanders in NA. I hope they will not take over the government.

ISLAMABAD: The military top brass on Monday took stock of the emerging political crisis in the country because of agitation planned by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek on Aug 14.

**The discussion took place at the Corps Commanders Conference at the GHQ, which was presided by Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif.
**
A couple of participants confirmed that discussions took place over the “political developments”, but wouldn’t speak about the nature of the deliberations or the conclusions reached because of the sensitivity of the matter.

A statement on the meeting issued by the military’s public affairs wing – ISPR – too did not say anything about the issue and focused on the briefing to the commanders on Operation Zarb-i-Azb in North Waziristan.

The military may have chosen to stay quiet on the matter, but it was not much helpful in quashing speculations that have been doing rounds in the country.

**While whispering has been going on, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif gave voice to those fears as he speculated about the “secret hands orchestrating the long marches”.
**
“It hurts and confuses me – who has given them (PTI and PAT) these agendas,” Mr Sharif asked while speaking at the launch of the government’s economic ‘Vision 2025’.

Meanwhile, the United States has conveyed to the Army that it will not be supporting any extra-constitutional step in the country as a result of the agitation and will apply sanctions in case of such an eventuality.

Troops have been deployed in the federal capital for security since the start of military operation in North Waziristan. This makes it all the more important to see how the military plans its response, when the marchers begin arriving in the city.

Civilian law enforcement agencies have, meanwhile, taken unprecedented steps to stop the marches.

Re: Political crisis discussed by army commanders

When....

  1. Our Govt itself imposes article 245,
  2. Our Interior Minister himself justifies deployment of Army,
  3. Our Govt Ministers themselves talk of threats of terrorism,
  4. And our print and electronic media keeps on discussing Army...

....Don't you think that when they discuss Political crisis in their conference, it is "justified & fully in line with Govt policy"...

Re: Political crisis discussed by army commanders

These incompetent, duffer PMLN goons instead of admitting their utter incompetence in handling dissident have restored to indirectly maligning ISI and what not. These people were already on warning, but I wouldn't be surprised to see army running out of its patience.

When army has asked you hand them over the control of Islamabad and they'll be responsible for maintaining peace and order, then why on earth would you seal the capital with 1,100 containers? How bloody dictatorial and desperate can you get in the name of democracy? Fine, people won't peacefully gather in one big location, you'll just have mini clashes literally everywhere in the country with people trying to move forward to reach Islamabad. And you think army will just sit there and watch?

Re: Political crisis discussed by army commanders

LOL, PTI has caused this situation and they are blaming others.

Typical jiyalas.

Re: Political crisis discussed by army commanders

^ actually its the PMLN who has turned the situation worse by not listening to demands earlier, barricading cities, using police etc. Govt could've simply started investigation long before this, now that the time is so close for the march PMLN offer SC investigation, who is going to trust his motive now?

Re: Political crisis discussed by army commanders

ager yehi sortehal rahi to army Martial law nafiz kar dey gi....

Re: Political crisis discussed by army commanders

Typical blind Noonie darbari.

Yes a party that claims to have won heavy mandate and acts as paladin of democracy can't bloody handle protest despite using 'experience' as its USP. Why is your party so sht scared of the same protests it continuously vociferously nullified and dismissed on every platform?

If you gonna be nuisance and cry about democracy about in every other thread, at least have the guts to admit that right to protest is every Pakistani's fundamental democratic right. Yes the same right Noonie jiayalas proudly exercised during Zardari's time.

Re: Political crisis discussed by army commanders

Well since yesterday, Nawaz Sharif and Gen Raheel Sharif are eating, sleeping and breathing together. Nawaz is not letting him out of his sight. The reason is obvious :omg:

Re: Political crisis discussed by army commanders

Only one phone call needed…111 brigade. :teggy:

Re: Political crisis discussed by army commanders

And because of article 245, 111th Brigade is already patrolling ISB

Re: Political crisis discussed by army commanders

The body language of Nawas Sharif in the midnight independence celebration was absolutely painful to watch.

It looked like in his head he was loudly cursing the person who made his seating arrangement between two generals. LOL

Re: Political crisis discussed by army commanders

Maybe he wanted King (Abdullah) and Pasha (Erdoğan) on his left right, instead. :bulbuli: To feel like royalty.
