Political Agendas for up coming elections

Do political parties in Pakistan contesting in this up coming election have a definite agenda? Do they have a key stance of different issues and some official statements on how to deal with them?

Where can I find out which party stands for what?

It seems like they all have just the same old hoqas pokas lines. I want to know what YOUR party stands on the following?

  1. How much budget increase they are planning to do in Education?
  2. What are their plans to get Pakistan out of loan debts and I mean concrete conceivable plans?
  3. What measures they will will make if come to power to improve the Police force?
  4. What measures they will take to curb sectarian violence? Do they have a plan? Do they know what it will take to make that particular plan successful.

I want to know where I can find official standing of parties on questions like the above.

good start

I would add to it though not just how much budget is going to be allocated to education, but

What is the education plan. short, mid and long term.
How will the budget be spent.
How much of that is in offering basic education to the masses.
How much is going towards increasing number and capacity of higher education institutions

I believe even if I go to one of their offices setup in different cities and ask for such info. they will be clueless. The election in Pakistan that I have seen are more about giving people rides to the polling stations, putting the banners up and free food.

I ran into the local chairman of the muslim league recently, I had asked him the same questions but he had no real answers. He finally got fed up and said that they needed to be in power to make these decisions. I was insistent that I would not vote for someone unless they atleast had a plan for what they wanted to do. maybe when u get in power the ground reality if a bit diferent and you have to adjust your plan. But for all the hoopla and all this guy had about restoration of democracy and how important it was and how the current setup was not working..he had nothing of value to add as in how exactly will they run the place..

... the parties that we are talking about don't have a clue on ANYTHING. We as a whole are a confused nation and so are the elected people. Most of the people that we have been electing and that we would elect spend all their energies on the formation of election specific alliances and deriving strategies to get elected. Their only objective after getting elected is to get returns on their 'hard work' and 'investment' ...

... The present political scene is that of 1985 elections when junejo was brought in by Zia so Musharraf will have the hold na du all will see mian azhar as the most likely PM and he is known for his TC, so we will have a handcuffed govt and primeminister. NSC has already been formed an dthis will further ruin the whole scenario. INfact we have gone 20 years bak in stead of moving forward, we are a nation which doesnot value its leaders ( who ever it is Mian or Bibi) and honestly speaking we do have leadership dearth here. 90 % same faces will come up, so what was teh rteason for all this exercise by Mushy.

Both on domestic and foreign fronts we turned as a looser in post Afghan war scenario.and where u talked about the manifestos of parties they are all piece of bull ****, its all IMF and now asian development bank dictated, we will live in shadow of sham democarcy and a mini martail law until or unless another plane brusts and then we will start again?

So it seem sthat there is no end to this power hide and seek game? the real loosers are we the pakistani nation.

One is a Mechanical Engineer working in a multi-national firm based in Islamabad and the other is a Insurance consultant also working in Islamabad/Lahore.

Pretty strong words, I must say.

PTI’s manifesto can be read at:

http://www.insaf.org.pk/manifesto.htm

Hope that helps

manifesto is fine..what about some concrete plans. I think Imran is an honest and sincere person, however if honesty and sincerity was the gauge to bring someone to power I would have suggested edhi.

how will they do it, what will they do. what will they do in the first 90 days in power, what foundations will they set which will not reap rewards in their regime's power but mayube 10 years later..how do they plan to address all these issues.

Th emanifesto is a good broad mission statement...lets talk the "how to" part of it. I still think he is a step ahead. most political parties dont even have a real manifesato.

yaaar sab political party supporters to ko saamp soongh gaya hai. abhi tak koi response naheen.

Interesting that peopel dont know the plans and all of the parties they support.

so far I get the impression that no political party has any real plans to offer the nation. Why should I elect these clowns then? They cant even bother to tell me what theya re going to accomplish and how and when, and not just provide some fairy tales but some concrete plans.

FYI, I even emailed the contacts for some groups and errr no response yet.

So they dont know what they are going to do, but they just want power hmmmm.
