Police awaiting detailed report in Julia death case

PESHAWAR: Police are awaiting for the laboratory report of Julia Petricia, a 75-year-old British lady, who died suddenly in Peshawar while busy in shopping with her 25-year-old Pakistani bridegroom.

Although the post-mortem report has cleared her husband of any wrongdoing and confirmed that the lady died due to cardiac arrest but police are taking extra care in the case as a foreigner is involved. The reason of importance of the case for police is not only the involvement of a foreigner but also the nature of the case because it was not a routine marriage. The two fell in love through Internet chatting.

“In this case we have a 75-year-old British bride and her 25-year-old Pakistani husband, Zafar,” police officials said. Zafar has a master’s degree from the Peshawar University and got involved with the lady while chatting on the Internet. She came to Pakistan and got married in court with Zafar, belonging to Mardan district. They married just four days ago, a source told The News. Julia died when they were busy in shopping.
