What is the name of this haircut…?
is this a pointed/edgy layered haircut?
There's no name for it, they use a blade to create those fine wisps..
Re: Pointed Layers
Her hair is too straight, that's why it looks "pointed". Gina is right about the blade. My hairdresser used the blade too, but I don't like it. I like the old scissors better. :)
Re: Pointed Layers
its just a step cut...and i think she straightened her hair...
razor cut to create more blunt edges, that was something i used to do in high school and came back when emo hair came back in. when the layers in the back are done like that again it does look rather emo but that’s the word we use here in teh states
Re: Pointed Layers
oh my god...the last pics scares me...but u know a lot of people are running at the moment like this...how much time do they take to be a cartoon ??
but the gal with blond hairs is looking nice...nice haircut
Re: Pointed Layers
i like those haircuts.. they're just choppy layers and when you straighten your hair it turns out like that. but mine never gets that straight =/
Re: Pointed Layers
The first set of pics is what my hair looks like when I straighten it.
It's very deep layering that starts around your ears/chin (depending on your length).... you should be able to take the pics in to your stylist if you want that hair cut and they can duplicate it.
Pics are better than just describing/naming it anyway. :)
wow, i wish i was that brave in highschool to get those dramatic cuts.
nice style. really really like it.
Re: Pointed Layers
This cut utilizes dramatic layers to create a contemporary look. Typically, a stylist will use a razor to cut many layers into the front and sides of the hair. This type of cut can be an excellent option for women with extremely thick, hard-to-manage hair.
Re: Pointed Layers
P.S. Many stylists use razors for this cut, but not all. My stylist just does it with scissors, but it does take more time. I prefer the scissors!! :)
oh don't get me wrong i didn't do the emo haircut i was in college when that trend came around however layers that were choppy thanks to meg ryan's look every lady pretty much had a stylist use a razor to create blunt layers.
emo kids have recently brought the trend back.
