Siddique Salik, high profile military officer and writer died on 17th August 1988 at the age of 52 in a plane crash that killed his mentor General zia-ul-haq as well. All his books were best sellers.

John Keats, English romantic poet died at the age of 25 due to tuberculosis.
Meera ji died at the age of 37 due to excessive drinking.
Khalil-ur-Rehman azmi, poet and literary critic died at the age of 51 due to leukemia.
Anton Chekov, one of the greatest writers of short stories, died at the age of 44 due to tuberculosis.

Sylvia Plath passed away at the age of 30 (in 1963), of an apparent oven-related suicide. She was an American poet and writer. I remember my poetry teacher in cegep, telling the class about how it was ironic that both Mrs. Plath and her husband's mistress/partner (Assia Wevill) had died in the same manner... by "gassing" themselves. :(
