Poetry at Intikhaab

Dear Amal and Nikamijano,

Could you please see the posters at Intikhaab give credit to the original poets by acknowledging them - at least mentioning their names in the footnotes when they copy and post their original poems. I am in the process of translating into English much of the Urdu poetry posted here and often do not know the source of poems. If the posters do not know who wrote the original nazams/ghazals, they can point out as source unknown or anonymous etc. Thanks.

Sincerely
Ravi Kopra

Re: Poetry at Intikhaab

Dear Ravi, it has been stressed upon contributors innumerable times to mention source whenever available. But it has come to no avail. I understand that it would be too harsh to make it compulsory for our members to mention the source as most of the times, source is somehow not available. I also know that people generally do not mention the source even if they know where a particular piece is coming from. I can make another sticky request to members for including source of the sutff they post but I am not sure if it will work. Anyhow, your concern and your translation work is highly appreciated. You are doing a fine job :):k:

Amal.....mashaAllah you are a nice and decent mod on GS...Keep it up...:)

Anwaar Qureshi was right about you.

Re: Poetry at Intikhaab

Dear Amal,

Thanks for the response. I wrote a poem on the topic in point, but I goofed in posting it. There was some computer glitch and it appeared in multiple postings. Sorry. I have made a request to the administrator to delete the additional topic headings as I have erased the contents under them by editing.

Thanks for showing interest in my poetry translations.
