Not the poems you write but the ones you read.

may be momentarily...we all get influenced/moved by the poem and that is the skill of the poet to capture your thoughts...may be even for a moment!

So what you are saying is that , even if you are in a bad mood ,a funny light hearted poem can change your mood ?

i am NOT talking about a momentary change in mood but rather mood in general. it does affect you momentarily. yes!

of course...you are NOT gonn a read romantic poetry if you just had a separation or a fight with your spouse :D are you?

Lets say you do come accross a poem thats contradictory to your mood,maybe a friend recommended it or forwarded it ,will you read it ? Will that change your mood momentarily ? Or will you think the poet didnt know wht he is talking about ( :hehe: true story).
Will the meaning of the poem sink in or will your mood block it from sinking in your mind?

well, i will NOT be in the right state of mind to read something of opposite in nature. i would rather put it aside and may be read later and ponder…the thing is your mind N soul must be in harmony to accept something. :slight_smile:

Usually it's quite opposite. When I'm happy I read/ post/send poetry ...but when I am sad I like to read something that is encouraging.

P.S.: I use poetry as a sense of conveying message and my friend usually get it when I read shair to them or send them ...and we usually converse in poetry. Yunno like bait baazi returning shair after shair.

I can change my mood to read sad and happy poetry at a time.

You have some skills !!!
For me poetry can upset my mood if im in a good mood but v v rarely uplift my mood if I'm upset.
