It happens only in Pak: PM appoints son-in-law to plum World Bank post - Yahoo! News India

Islamabad, Dec 15 (ANI): Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has appointed his son-in-law Raja Azeem-ul Haq to the post of Executive Director (ED) of the World Bank in Washington.

What i dont understand is how come the PM of Pakistan has the authority to appoint someone at the World Bank

Could the Prime Minister of Australia do the same (if he wanted to off course) :konfused:

Re: PM’s damaad appointed executive director of World Bank

What do you expect from the worshipers of the Goddess of Corruption?

It is a nominated position from each country which negotiates with WB for development and other funding to that country. Now we are at mercy of son-in-law of the chief haram khor. Jahaiz main Raj mila hai Raja sahib ko. This is the same son-of-a-Raja that was…

More corruption on the way. Pakistan is a business. Just like the 5 mafia families of NY. PPP, PML-N, PML-Q, MQM, AWAMI.

Re: PM's damaad appointed executive director of World Bank

A few weeks ago there was news regarding Raja Rental tipping his son in law for this very post. And at that time, jiyalas were adamant that it was just a nomination, not an appointment. Now they have conveniently disappeared.
I guess if Benazir can appoint her son as the party chairman, Rental can appoint his son in law at whatever post he wants. It is their turn after all. Previously, this son in law was illegally promoted to grade 21, and now hes going to represent a group of 7 or 8 countries in the world bank, that too on a sifarishi appointment. Im pretty sure on of the other nations will have something to say about this. I would love to see him embarrassingly removed after objections from other countries.

These family conglomerates are the worst examples of democracy in Pakistan, maybe even the world.

takht-e-lahore ki saazish hai yeh, ya phir shaheed-e-jamhooriyat k liye inaam?

Re: PM's damaad appointed executive director of World Bank

So why don't PPP supporters post in this thread.

I don't expect any criticism from their side, just want to see a different excuse in the long list of lame excuses.

Re: PM’s damaad appointed executive director of World Bank

**Chief Justice has taken a suo moto notice of the appointment **… Raja babu ney agar koi garr’barr ki hey to buri tarah phaNcey geiN :cb:

Re: PM's damaad appointed executive director of World Bank

Because it is 'normal' for them. Raja sahib is just exercising his right to be corrupt and this virtue is what took him to the highest office. They would make a lot of noise if somehow some honest person is appointed to any important position though.
