PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

Nawaz tried to be a civilian dictator in his be previous governments. Using parliament as a stamp, he started to have total control of judges, president, army chief, etc. Even tried to declare himself Ameerul Momineen.
The first time president refused to budge to his demands and had him packing. The second time the army chief refused.

I am afraid he will try to do the same thing this time around as well. Result will be either that he would have to be sent packing once more, or he will succeed and become a civilian dictator for life.

Not good.

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

Lets see, saman sou baras ka hay pal ki Khabar nahin. The benefit that the sharifs have is that they are a family dynasty, they already have the next layer of leadership available. The dilemma with PTI is that imran khan would be 66 in 2018, and I think PPP has been damaged beyond repair. We do need an opposition otherwise we are going to a dead end.

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

Cmon, lets give NS a chance. We bear with Zardari and his goons for five years, we can wait for one more year to see if he fullfills his promises.

As for IK, he is a fighter and will keep fighting for his "Nazarya" till the last breath, and we stand by him.

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

^ Give him a chance? As if we have a choice!
No matter how good his performance turns out to be (even though unlikely), no matter how many people want him to remain Amirul Momineen; he still can not proclaim himself dictator for life. That is the basis of democracy.

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

^^ I mean before we start bashing him.

I am one of the most vocal critic of NS, but I think we should respect the mandate he received.

And yes he has a very confrontational past, I just hope he has learnt something and will realize that it is 2013, not 1997. Nahi to phir Balla hay na phainta laganay kay liye, :hehe:

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

No its not, Don't see things election to election. That was the original deal one term zardai next nawaz.
PPP was held back by zardari, it would bounce back, next time.

PTI is over. Earlier you believe better it is.

Very likely...

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

^ it's not easy for PPP to enter punjab now, PMLN is becoming a mafia there. If PTI does not offer an alternative we are doomed.

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

PTI should think of grooming some people for the future, making them visible from now so people recognize them when they go to vote. That should be a priority. i fear for we may be ruled by shrif grandchildren too. the children are already in power

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

Dudes.... wake up.
Games over!!

PTI is sucked by a blackhole.

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

Let the government begin, the international affairs, interior policies and economic matters would almost certainly remain the same as PPP government. I don't think people will see any tangible difference in the working of this government and the previous one, the people want their issues to be sorted soon. If PTI performs well in KPK and keep in touch in punjab we could have a chance in 2018. But unfortunately we will need the electables even then.

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

if you ask most people in peahawar who they voted for, they will say Imran Khan,

now we need for the candidates to start making themselves visible ans not ride Imran's coattails

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

Monk may be right. PPP had already lost all its hopes in this election. They were rudderless and leaderless.
But next time Bilawal won't be an inexperienced lad. He can give party a new look and new energy.

The future of PPP rests on how Bilawal turns out to be. If he does not have the charisma of being a popular leader then PPP's future is sealed.

This scenario of a party relying on a 'royal' for its future is unfortunate but true in Pak politics.

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

I agree with Monk, our nation is emotional one.

All was part of NRO, PPPP left the field wide open for PML-N. Muk Muka is not just another elction slogan.

On the other hand I think PTI can fill the vacuum nicely left by PPP. At least in Punjab, KP and urban areas of Sindh.

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

their is a dynastic rule in Pakistan

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

I hope the next COAS is not as spineless as the current one. This i am afraid is the only way to stop Nawaz from becoming a civilian dictator again.

as far as PPP, they are waiting for Bilawal to mature and graduate from his Urdu lessons. He will be back. We will always be run by family dynasty parties.

I am afraid TuQ was right.

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

now, NS with his new bosses, interesting would be to see how he will try to undermine army and judiciary.
Army must be regretting for letting their pet NS go. He was better puppy when on leash from GHQ,
not too sure.
Specially when he has seen what he can achieve with new setup.
Media would be no problem, he has enough big mouths working for him, to last a life time and more.

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

Now that I do not agree with. It is a real challenge, but I really believe if the institutionalization of PTI continues, PTI can emerge as a very structured and sucessful party.

If PTI can form govt in KPK and delivers only 30-40% of what promised, we'll bounce back.

And lets be honest, few months back no body gave PTI any chance to get more than 6-7 seats....

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

NO!!!!

TUQ came second time to make sure his moderate votes don't go to PTI.

Remember some hosts were saying in his sittings it was same crowd who should be with PTI??

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

TuQ also said the system is corrupt and in the coming elections there will be massive rigging.

One evidence of this rigging:

*Hina Manzoor PTI (official )
*

(PTI candidate for NA 54)

PLEASE SHARE!
"NA 54 PML N scores more with less actual voter turnout in polling stations."

Every possible practice was adopted for rigging to stop PTI from winning.
• It was 11:00 am when I went to poll. My turn; in line came after 3 hrs in Westridge polling station.
Only two old women (picture uploaded), very slow and absolutely no check on polling booth were performing duty. (Who could not see and hear properly)
The room arrangement was deliberately mismanaged to facilitate rigging.
Too much delay by saying one of the ballot paper book is finished.
The stamp was placed un checked; free for all in polling booth.
• Mr. Malik Abrar entered Westridge women polling station at sharp 5:00 pm and forced the gates to be closed with his team and polling stopped.
• One hour extended time was not allowed in any polling station, presiding officers said they have not received any official letter. (video uploaded)
• ECP violation: In maximum polling stations voters were sent back to bring ‘shair perchee’ and only then they were allowed to enter.
• The results were not handed over to polling agents nor displayed on doors for public and media; saying they were short of stationery, especially in women polling stations, where women agents left after waiting for hours.
• ECP violation: The result was not sealed in polling stations but was taken open to district courts, where Mr. Malik Abrar was sitting from evening 5:30 till morning 6:00 am.
• Only 40% official result was handed over to polling agents.
• In some polling stations two lists, were being maintained by the presiding staff one with picture and one without picture.
• There were reports of fake votes added to ballot boxes.
• Due to absence of PML N voters their supporters started violence on PTI voters to delay and stop the polling. In the process some of our voters were injured still in hospital, vehicles damaged, their shops and godowns looted, voters harassed with intense aerial firing.
(Evidence available to support the stated facts)

Ultimate silence and delay in result! To manipulate actual result!

Re: PMLN is here for a loooong loooong time

No I disagree with people who say Bilwal would be able to revive PPP. No way. The guy genuinely have no interest in politics nor there's any leadership in PPP to guide him. BB was able to get mass support because whole nation was emotionally charged by Bhutto's death and Zia's brutal regime whereas Bilwal will have to carry the stigma of Zardari's crimes. This is not 80s, we live in the age of electronic and social media, in the age of political talks shows, Bilawal wouldn't be to able argue with a government clerk let alone debating with big political guns. PPP is almost beyond repair now but that doesn't mean to say they'll lose their regional support but the idea of achieving mass support in near future is totally out of question.

If Imran Khan the national hero couldn't people to vote for his vision despite 17 years of struggle and clean slate what makes people think that someone like Bilawal, who is such a ridiculed and rejected individual already, would be able to convince people?

Two things have always worked in PPP's favour: shahadat and army rule. Since none of these two things had taken place in last 5 years, they had lost all grounds to appeal to the mass public.
