This pandering of MQM by all parties which come to power has emboldened the party to an extent that they know they can do anything and get away with it.
MQM at the moment was in a tight corner, and PMLN did not need their votes for getting their presidential candidate selected. Is this visit justified?

I guess they are there for some under the table handshake. We will not hand over any witnesses to Scotland Yard, and you support us in the presidential elections, and we'll help you against the up rise of PTI in Karachi.

if Altaf comes out unharmed from the case in London, PMLN will be the reason.
its for presidential election for sure, but what they will get in return is yet to be seen. If i'm not wrong Mamnoon Hussain would have won irrespective of MQM's support, since major competitor (Raza Rabbani) has already quit.
I don't understand why they had to shake hands with MQM for a case which was almost already won.

How sad of PML-N. Just to gauge how bad this deal smells, PML-N did not even need MQM's support to win the presidency. They already had the numbers. Yet they went out of their way to rope MQM in.
Im pretty sure they will try to strengthen MQM in Karachi against PTI, as Karachi and KPK turned out to be PTIs strongest bases in the recent elections.
The media is going to have a field day with this. Imagine Haider Abbas Rizvi and Waseem Akhtar sitting in the same room with Nawaz, Shehbaz and Chaudhry Nisar. I wonder who would be the first to remember that fateful press conference from 3 years ago.

This will damage PMLN (to some extent) as their supporters used to claim that there is close relationship between PTI and MQM. This was supposedly one reason why some people voted for PMLN.

..perhaps there is more than , what meets the eye...... prob Altaf's days are numbered , and NS wants to make sure , he is not blamed for non-cooperation from MQM .... by the way .... MQM was paid 500 Million in 97 by NS , for the 711 activists ...though MQM claims 15,000 ......] that were either killed or injured in the so called operation cleanup of 92 ... .
