If true, it shows that the drama of forward blocs and leadership tussles being played out to facilitate the PML Q inclusion in the federal govt is now into the full swing. Wattoo had a long meeting at President House’s, just before he went onto the Prime Minister.
Wattoo appointed adviser to PM
LAHORE:** Former Punjab chief minister Mian Manzoor Wattoo on Saturday was appointed as adviser to prime minister, with the status of a federal minister.**Express News reported that Wattoo had been given the Industries and Production department. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani confirmed Wattoo’s appointment as adviser in a plane en route to Cairo from Islamabad and said Wattoo would be considered a PPP minister.
ISLAMABAD: As the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)'s political relations turned sour with Salmaan Taseer’s appointment as Punjab governor, the PPP started efforts to muster maximum support of the independent members in the National Assembly for smooth sailing of the budget session. In this regard, Mian Mazoor Ahmad Wattoo, MNA, and former Chief Minister Punjab called on Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani here at the Prime Minister’s House Saturday. He remained with the prime minister for sometime and exchanged views on socio-economic and political situation of the country. It was Manzoor Wattoo’s second meeting with Prime Minister Gilani in the last 10 days, and more significant in the backdrop of souring relations between the PPP and the PML-N over Salmaan Taseer’s appointment. A few days back, Manzoor Wattoo, along with members of forward bloc of the Q-League, met the prime minister in Lahore, fueling speculations that the PPP was in search of new friends in Punjab after its differences with the PML-N further widened. Though Mian Manzoor Wattoo holds Q-League’s Senior Vice President office, yet he contested and won the election as independent and is supporting the government in the National Assembly. Wattoo also claimed to have the support of a dozen members in the National Assembly as well in the Punjab Assembly. According to sources, the government was making efforts to get maximum support during the budget session of the National Assembly.
What Pakistan need right now is stability, i want to see this government under Gilani last for next 5 years. These politicians can continue their " jorh torh ki siyasat" but they should not forget their responsibilty of a safe and stable Pakistan.
lol another misleading RP title, Watoo is considered the rival of the chaudhries and musharrafu is trying very hard to make him the president of the pml[q lota league], which has slipped from his hands now.
I request the mods to edit the title, Watoo no longer works for the PML[Q], he works for Musharraf and couldnt get the party leadership :hehe: Poor RP.
** Wattoo resigns from PML-Q**
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) vice president Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo resigned from his party after being appointed as the adviser to prime minister and being granted federal minister status, Aaj television reported on Sunday. The channel reported that Wattoo called on PML-Q President Shujaat Hussain in Lahore and submitted his resignation in person. It quoted Wattoo as saying that he believed in tolerance and humility in politics, adding that he and Shujaat had discussed the political situation, as well as the prevailing crises currently facing the country. The channel said that the PML-Q president had accepted Wattoo’s resignation and appointed former NA speaker Ameer Hussain as the new vice president of the party. daily times monitor
Yes, all the politicians have shown in the matter of a couple of months how they only care about power and that’s all. Presntly both the PPP and PML N are falling over themselves in kissing upto PML Q stalwarts like Shujaat, Wattoo, Chatta, Jamali etc. All people who were previously dismissed as Lota’s and all who are practically at President House every other day nowadays.
It appears that the leaders of the PPP and PML N are unknowingly (or knowingly) dancing to the tune of Musharraf. The picture below summarises the drama being played out, that some are falling for. :hehe:
Ch Shujaat, Ch Pervaiz Elahi and Hamid Nasir Chattha talk to the media after their meeting. The leaders met after a separate meeting of the Chaudhry cousins and Chattha with President Pervez Musharraf
Yes, and PML Q, MQM and other pro-Musharraf leaders are now being courted by all those parties (PPP, PML N) that weeks ago were castigating them. Who would have thought that the supposedly falling apart PML Q would be the most sought after party in town, and people would be singing the praises of the likes of Ch. Shujaat.
^ We should seriously double check what Reza posts, we really don't pay attention to the propaganda he posts, but if I do bother to read it, it turns out most of its either manipulated/twisted articles, or just outright lies. The other day he posted how PML[N] didnt get the highest number of votes in the PA, and when I asked for proof, he was no where to be found.
Yes, we all know resignations are merely cosmetic for public consumption, and to facilitate PML Q'a alliance with the PPP. The main thing that everyone agrees is that he is Musharraf's man. :)
