PML, ANP likely to ally in NWFP
PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) is likely to make an election alliance with the Awami National Party (ANP) in NWFP for the January 8 polls, sources within the PML-Q told Daily Times. According to party sources, the government was trying to create a friendly environment with the ANP and choosing ANP member Mansoor Tariq as NWFP caretaker railway minister was the first step towards it. Meanwhile, the ANP, similar to the PML-Q, has initiated its election campaign by hoisting party flags and displaying large signboards and posters in chowks and bazaars of the provincial metropolis.
