Shahbaz sharif’s secret and open meetings with Army Chief is bearing fruit now. So much for “oh he is a CM of one provience and meeting with CAOS on security issues” :rolleyes:
Off course a person (Nawaz Sharif) who was planted and watered by a Army dictator (Zia Ul Haq), can not stay away from Army for long. Day by day its getting too difficult for him to hide his revenge agenda behind “democracy”
Shahbaz Sharif has essentially asked to invite Army and Judiciary in proposed All Parties conference.
and now i’ll leave it up to PML(N) supporters who will off course try to justify this by BASHING OTHERS politicians, dictators etc and nothing else.
LAHORE - Different political parties, including the ruling PPP, have rejected **Shahbaz Sharif’s proposal of consultations with the army and the judiciary on national issues, terming it a confession on PML-N’s part that politicians have failed to deliver. **
PPP Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warraich said that CM Shahbaz Sharif’s idea was against the spirit of democracy and uncalled for in the presence of a broader political consensus that all institutions should work within their ambit. He suspected that a conspiracy was being hatched to harm democracy. Safdar said Shahbaz made his and his party’s democratic credentials doubtful by presenting such a proposal.
PPP Punjab Secretary General Samiullah Khan said that it was for the first time in country’s history that intervention of the judiciary into political matters had been sought by a political party. He said that while army’s role in country’s politics was now an established fact, there was no need, whatsoever, to give judiciary a similar role in country’s affairs. He said that Shahbaz’s statement lacked clarity and the PML-N should explain its position on the issue.
PML-Q Information Secretary Senator Kamil Ali Agha said that the PML-N was now inviting the army to clean its mess in an attempt to conceal its failures on various fronts.

Shahbaz Sharif has called for a dialogue, to include the judiciary and the armed forces, and you seem so peeved by that. Fine, I see no problem with your outburst. However, where was this outburst when altaf hussain asked the generals to come and impose martial law in the country a few days ago? Surely, imposing a martial law is worse than asking them to participate in some debate.
Now before you rile up, I can assure you I do not agree with SS proposal, even if he has the noblest of intentions because I do not trust a single military COAS, even though it’s pretty evident that the world thinks Kiani’s calling the shots in Pakistan, not some minion civilian president.

p.s. so you didnt answer my question, why werent you so peeved when Altaf Bhai asked the generals to impose martial law a few days ago? judging by how you are so upset on this ‘proposal’ to invite the army for an all party dialogue, you should be fuming when someone invites the army to just take over.

I dont have any problem with Inviting Army to the table (as in National Security Counsel) specially when Army is calling the shots anyway but I have problem with the people who at one hand bash one politicians for a reason and go mild on their beloved others for same issue. I have problem with people who FIRE their CAOS for the suggestion of including Army in the fold when they are IN GOVT but suggest the same thing when they are NOT IN GOVT.

Whatever the case, atleast I am against military intervention in ‘both’ cases, unlike some people who hail Altaf Bhai for inviting dictators to take over (later they want himself to wear a sari and take over) and start yapping like babies if someone else (from a political party they hate) asks the ‘army to be included in the fold’ (your own words).
And since you stated here your sole purpose posting here would be idolizing me and putting light on me, but I cant say I value you that much; so I’ll focus on political leaders here.
