ISLAMABAD: Amidst reports of differences over the merger of the PML-Q and the PML-N, some senior Leaguers have suggested the formation of an alliance of the two parties to work as opposition in the National Assembly.
Sources said the proposal was conveyed to the N-League, which sought time to discuss it within the party. The proposal was conveyed to PML-N Secretary-General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra during his meeting with Senator Saleem Saifullah on Friday. Senior leaders of the PML-N, including Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Senator Ishaq Dar, Senator Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Ghous Ali Shah, are pleading for the unification of both the leagues while Khawaja Asif and Ahsan Iqbal have serious reservations over some Q-Leaguers.
Earlier, Saleem Saifullah had met the senior leaders of his party at his residence to get maximum support for the merger with the PML-N. Senator Neelofar Bukhtiar, Gohar Ayub Khan, Ejaz-ul-Haq, Mrs Yaqoot Jamilur Rehman and Senator Naeem Chattha attended the meeting.
Sources said so far, Saifullah had not taken PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi into confidence regarding his meeting with the Sharif brothers.
Saifullah, who a few days back held a meeting with Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif, took the senior leaders of his party into confidence about his meeting. He told them that there were bright chances of the unification of both the leagues.
i think the time has come 4 both Q and N to combine and work honestly nder leadership of NS. N league needs to put out PPP from punjab govenment and make coalition with Q in punjab. otherwise AAZ is gonna ruined the country in lights of altaf bhai and asfand.
