From the results of Local Body Elections in Punjab, its now obvious that PML-N is going to take another term in General Elections 2018. The question remains whether it would be simple majority (50%) or 2/3rd like in 1997 and who will be the next PM of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif with Nawaz as President or Maryam Nawaz ?
Punjab is the shortest route to Islamabad with its 148 General Seats Shahbaz Sharif is trying hard to make the most of it. PTI is not in a position to challenge PML-N is Punjab also PML-N would perform better in Balochistan & KPK than Election 2013.
PTI could be a serious challenge to PMLN but IK agitation/allegation based politics backfired him & his party. One can disagree with PMLN priorities, mega projects orientation,less spending in social sectors like Health Care Education etc but overall PMLN development based politics is widely accepted by masses in Pakistan as depicted in LB Elections. Moreover with energy projects in pipeline that would be operational by early 2018, economy showing some revival & CPEC/Gwadar related Projects would be another edge for PMLN in Electn 2018

Sadly, there is no alternate for people........ALL parties are corrupt to the core, they just care about lining their own pockets with money, and expanding their personal businesses @ expensse of ghareeb awam. Shayad wo waqt bhi ayega jab in corrupt politicians will try to sell the military also one day........ya shayad ye bhi ho chuka hai.......kyonke fauj bhi corrupt Govts ka saath de rahi hai........wo jo merzi kertay phirain koi poochnay wala nai, sab baich do, mulk baich do, everything for sale.

It all depends on those who have absolute power. Last time I heard that N$ got heavy mandate as you said but those real power brokers kicked his arse so hard that he had to land in KSA and remained there for 10 years. Not a single Punjabi including yourself out of 2/3 population came out on street to protest disgraced departure of heavy mandate winner of 1997 elections.
