HYDERABAD: Leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Tuesday demanded that Army troops should be deployed at all the polling stations of the district for free and fair elections and called for the removal of governors of Sindh and the Punjab.

Sahibzada Shabbir Ansari, a party candidate for the National Assembly, made the demand at a news conference at the Hyderabad Press Club along with other local leaders of the party.

He said an independent Election Commission should be formed to hold impartial elections in the country and called for the resignation of President Musharraf and the caretaker government and formation of a national consensus government.

He said only voters should be allowed to enter the polling stations to ensure peace in the district and hoped that citizens of Hyderabad would repose their confidence in the PML-N candidates.

He said election officials belonging to political parties should be changed immediately and local body institutions should be suspended for transparency in elections.

Re: PML-N for Army at Hyderabad polling stations

This is the role of many Armies around the world, especially Asian countries

Anyways, there are not enough police to do this role, alongside their regular role
