PML-N decides to quit from cabinet! (merged)

Re: Brilliant Move Nawaz!

good move, but battle lines need to be drawn. PPP which was an ideological party is now run by people who have no constituencies and are ynelected, Rehman Dakait, Hussain Haqqani the rat from DC, and Asif 10%. They should not support this new PPP. N will join Lawyers and APDM, and rest of Pakistan in thier struggle!

Re: Brilliant Move Nawaz!

And so another chaptern unfolds to the hope of some and dismay of others.

Is this the end of the beginning or the beginning of the end?

If mush can go from god to dog and zardari can go from 10% to 110%, may be ganja can go from clown to town! Who knows.

But guys remember - Kiyani hasn't said much but army is watching. Too much fuidity is simply application for the next coup.

Re: PML-N decides to quit from cabinet

Exactly.

Everyone knows that parties like the PPP, MQM, ANP, JUI-F etc have their own long standing vote banks. They certainly won because of that, and on the bread and butter issues, rather than the judges issue, which only the PML N made it's central point.

Now the PML N got only 19% of the votes, and all the other parties who did not make the judges issue a central plank of the manifesto together got 81%.

Re: PML-N decides to quit from cabinet

What will the judges will do if they are back...there are more than 10 million cases pending countrywide...

Re: PML-N decides to quit from cabinet

Zab, starting from the top, take care of the ones that involve massive corruption, fraud, and issues of national compromise, working their way down.

Re: PML-N decides to quit from cabinet

How many seats did JUI win again? And if these parties had their own vote banks, why did ANP fail to win anything in 2002 then?

Re: Brilliant Move Nawaz!

I seriously doubt it. The army lacks the political capital or leverage to act agains the govt.
IMO Nawaz is now the king of Pakistan with this move. Whenever the next election happens he will crush the PPP in Punjab - his opposition to MQM will maybe even winning seats in Interior Sindh.
The return of JI ensures inroads into Karachi
Write it down now, Nawaz is the next PM of Pakistan by this time next year.

Re: Brilliant Move Nawaz!

I thikn Kiyani knows its not in the nation, as well as the army's best interest to do anything. The people already developed a very negative view of the armed forces, and he, it appears isnt too pleased with that and is trying to get them out of political entanglements.

Re: PML-N decides to quit from cabinet

NS may take the spot light for a while, but in the end PPP will win. They control the country. End of story. They gonna come out even stronger.

Re: PML-N decides to quit from cabinet

in 1990, close to the fall out of the PPP govt, they were massively unpopular. In 1993, close to the fall out of the PML[N] Govt, they were massively unpopular. In 1997, close to the fall out of the PPP govt, they were massively unpopular. In 1999, close to the fall out of the PML[N] govt, they were massively unpopular. In 2008, close to the fall out of the PML[Q] govt, they were massively unpopular.

So how do you predict the PPP will come out strong?

Re: PML-N decides to quit from cabinet

Can not compare the 90's era from today. Right now media, national and international, is open and free in Pakistan. Decisions may not go away easily. Bottom line is this, the restoration of Judges issue was/is popular in mainly Punjab, not all over. There are other issues like inflation, electricity, water, health, education and terrorism.

NS has solidified his base rather won Pakistan with this decision.

Re: PML-N decides to quit from cabinet

Media, I dont think they are free, and if they were, that'll be even worse for the govt, even if PML[N] was in power, so that should indicate im not being biased. Its very hard for a govt at its last stages to be popular with the Pakistani people, history is full of such examples my friend.

Re: PML-N decides to quit from cabinet

I think media is free, but they have become more mature. The only pressure is on Zardari to show his political skills, because entire PPP block is watching him. It was his decision to go with Muree accord, sign agreement and shake hands. PPP wants to see how good are his political skills. PPP, don't worry about it, they are forever. They were out of power for over 11 years and came back to take the country.

Re: PML-N decides to quit from cabinet

I 2nd that, it's too early to say that PPP is with Musharraf now, they still claim that they want the judges back and working on a constitutional package. Today Zardari again said that he wants to impeach Musharaf, what I take from this is that PPP doesn't want to share the FRUIT with NS and thats it, nothing else.

Re: PML-N decides to quit from cabinet

Media will not sit back and praise the Government, and will magnify and amplify any mistakes the Govt makes, and it seems like Zardari is making plenty of those. They came back because they were anti-dictatorship, and always were in the past, but it seems like in Benazir's absence the party has no ground to stand on.

Re: PML-N decides to quit from cabinet

Spock good to see you back and in your usual form…It’s really unfortunate to note so many people posting in the forum base their arguments on compromises and have no regard for principles…unfortunately this has become our national character…

Yesterday Talat did a wonderful program comparing past and present statements of People’s Party leaders…totally exposing them…Just listen to the past stance of Latif Khosa then and Latif Khosa now in the beginning of the program…
