ISLAMABAD: The meeting of Parliamentary Committee for Constitutional Reforms (PCCR) postponed till tomorrow forcing postponement of the joint parliamentary session that had been convened for March 26, Friday in which recommendations prepared by the committee were to be tabled, Geo News reported.
Conflicts over renaming of NWFP between PML-N and ANP remained.
Federal Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan yesterday said that the joint parliamentary session has been convened for Friday in which recommendations prepared by the Parliamentary Committee for Constitutional Reforms (PCCR) will be tabled.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said that summary for convening joint session has not yet received.
PML N’s four member were very active in the committee and one day before proposal of 7th member of judicial commission was agreed on their proposal and issue of the name of NWFP is basically not their issue as they represent only Punjab in N.a. and there representation in other three provincial assemblies is equal to zero so there is no reason to delay this ammendment. Perhaps he wanted to see Zardari more powerful presedent.

ISLAMABAD: Awami National Party leader Senator Zahid Khan on Thursday said that constitutional package was incomplete without renaming of NWFP, which was a matter of provincial autonomy.
The consultative meeting of Awami National Party (ANP) took place in Islamabad with Asfandyar Wali Khan in the chair.
NWFP Chief Minister Amir Haider Hoti, Senator Haji Muhammad Adil, Afrasiab Khatak and Senator Zahid Khan attended the meeting.
ANP Information Secretary Zahid Khan told Geo that the consultative meeting had reposed confidence about the recommendations of constitutional reforms committee (CRC).
To a question about renaming of NWFP, he said that his party was stuck to its demand in this regard.
