The Decoration of Nishan-e-Haider:
Category: Operational (Awarded to deceased members of the Pakistani Military Forces whose death occurred during times of conflict)
Definition: It is the highest Military award and holds seniority among civil and military awards. It is open to all ranks for acts of heroism/conspicuous courage in circumstances of extreme danger or devotion to the country in the presence of the enemy on land, at sea or in the air.
Manufacture: It is made from the surrendered enemy gun metal.

I value every bit of Yasir's service to country but out stupid PM should have waited to recommend any such thing in fact its not his job. Army should investigate about what happened and who did what and then recommend personals for awards/recognitions

Actually this was an attempt to save some moral but can not be defined good attempt
yeah am agreed what u said.. but its seems more to me that PM trying to imporve him NUMBERS with the situation.

Right after the incident i noticed the media gave much less attention on lower ranked Shuhahda of this incident. If Nishan-e-Haider is to be awarded it should be shared by all the martyrs. Its unjust to neglect the sacrifice of the uncomissioned personnel.

His shahadat is commendable, I dont see he deserve a top award though unless they have a reason to award in tradition of this award!

Same story as medals awarded after Kargil. Half of our northern light infantry was wiped out and nobody was held accountable. Why not recommend court martial of those responsible for such incompetence that caused so much damage to life and equipment?
These medals were used to be awarded for extraordinary acts of bravery by soldiers. Now they are used to cover up extraordinary acts of stupidity of their high-ups.

Don't we have a purple heart equivalent in Pakistan? I have read that he was talking to his mom on the phone at duty and then there is this whole question of who knew what for this operation.

The ineptness shown by the PM will only add sectarian fuel to a straight forward case now. i would have supported nishan-e-haider if he had saved the Orions but that didn't happen, so a lesser award should be given for what he did.
