PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

PM made a mockery of the country once again calling foreign diplomats.. Alas if he could see his own actions which created such a situation. They were indulged in every sort of criminality from RPPs to defying supreme court orders. They came in to power by negotiating an illegal NRO deal which exempted them from all kind of criminal investigations. The PM himself who was a kangla who had to borrow money to run his election campaign… paid billions of rupees on the shopping spree of his wife who claimed 150,000 pounds in VAT refunds at Heathrow airport.. They gave state protection for four years to every sort of criminal in Pakistan including his son who was involved in scandals from NICL to robbing Hajj pligrims.. finally had to call British diplomat to save him from the army.. what a shame. If only this PM would have realized if he had performed and kept his act upright when he got a chance to serve people, he would have not seen this day.. If only people did not face 12 hour power outages he could have easily called the people of his country instead of the British to save his skin..

PM Gilani called UK, fearing coup: official

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s prime minister telephoned the top British diplomat in the country this week expressing fears that the Pakistani army might be about to stage a coup, a British official and an official in Islamabad said Friday.

The call, which one official said was “panicky”, suggests there was - or perhaps still is - a genuine fear at the highest level of the Pakistani government that army might carry out a coup or support possible moves by the Supreme Court to topple the civilian leadership.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani asked High Commissioner Adam Thomson for Britain to support his embattled government, according to the officials, who didn’t give their names because of the sensitivity of the issue. It’s unclear if the British government took any action. (AP)

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

Help me sir! Save me from my army!!! :smack:

Isn’t this another memogate? These people who cannot talk directly to their sub ordinates (military) how can they rule and manage the country?

Why do these leaders need foreign intervention for having everything solved? And he was trying to fool the nation the other day by firing the foreign secretary to show that he is very belligerent.

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

Don’t you know the history of Pakistan?? :smack:

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

here’s the denial from british sourceshttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/pakistan/9012704/British-official-denies-report-Pakistan-PM-made-panicky-call-to-UK-diplomat-about-army-coup.html

British official denies report Pakistan PM ‘made panicky call to UK diplomat’ about army coup

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

Haha another GATE going to open now. Ek amerika ko dusra walaeyt ko God oh God!!

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

British Officials and PM house had denied the allegations.

Personally I think Pakistani media are moral bankrupt. They are running any and all news provided by any source, be it puchan paaan wala as breaking news without realizing what can be the consequences.

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

as long as we have nicompoops, incompetents, hijras ruling Pakistan the history will keep repeating itself.

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

This has been reported by Associated Press which is not a part of Pakistani media.. You know how much these denials carry credibility.. I think you failed to follow Wikileaks... Our political leadership's relationship with foreign governments..

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

No I m talking about those "breaking news" screen running 23 hours out of 24 and those talk shows. I know these denials does not have much creditably but Media is not helping in stabilizing the situation at all.

Remember media forced court to open at the middle of night to pass an order reporting that Govt is sacking judges. It was almost a nervous breakdown in the country then and in the end it proved to be hawa hawaiee.

Remember what was on media 2 days ago. Looking at those reports from media, I did not go to washroom for 60 min just in case aisa n ho mairey pee pee kertey howey hee coup ho jayee.

Just rating hungry media and nothing else. I can bet if you call 10 media outlets with a fake news, 7/8 of those will air that with breaking news template without bothering to confirm with a pride of "reported first on our channel"

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

who says pakistani politicians/officials dont learn from their past mistakes, look this time he didnt even leave a paper (memo) trail behind and it was all verbal.

Now Prove this SC/Army/Media.

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

may be he went back to old school. No BB this time ...instead use Kabooter :)

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

I agree, channels like GEO are out of control.

Remember all the rumours about Zardari quitting, just a couple weeks ago?

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

even assuming the news was true, what exactly is wrong if Gilani or anyone calls UK or US or Saudi or China...whoever that may have some influence with the army? ISn't good for your country if a coup is stopped that way?

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

IF he is not promising anything harmful in return, then I dont see any problem with that too. Problem is induced when PM promises to return the favor in a way thats harmful for Pakistan.

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

I think they are just rumours. And Pakistani media do anything to make headline. Anyway, if this is not rumour then Gilani and Zardari both should resign respectfully before they are thrown out by judiciary.

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

So you mean all pakistanis are nicompoops, incompetents, hijras who voted above people.

By the way ZAB was niether nicompoop, incompetent or hijra, still mardood general Zia-ul-Haq kicked legal elected government and killed him. I think while describing these words one shouldn't forget 95000 who surrendered their arms and handed over greater part of Pakistan to Indians. Definitely they came under the definition what you describe for above leaders.

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

Under what charges? Judiciary has no power to throw out elected government.

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

Because they are bloody civilians. It is o.k. for DG ISI go to these foreingers for throwing out elected government.

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

The news was broken by the Associated Press, a US media firm. Pakistani media only picked the story, published/telecast it. And it duely published/ran rebuttals as well. It's perfectly professional.

Re: PM called British diplomat fearing coup: British Official

Has nt the army been running around to the Saudis past and present?
