Plz reply help Question about iud

I am assuming it is known universially as the coil, im sure the docs there will understand. Does it cost alot to just have it done where you are? No free family planning services that can do for you? If your coil has come out itself you should go to the doctors and get checked over also in the meantime use another form of contraception if you want to avoid a pregnancy.

Re: Plz reply help Question about iud

ask the gynecologist about IUD when you visit pakistan, its a common form of BC everywhere. cost will be 1/4 as that of US! thats true for most of the drugs, and i know birth control is much cheaper in Pakistan as its subsidized by the govt ( i know oral contraceptive pills like famila-28 are very very cheap, i have brought alot for myself from pakistan as OCP can be so expensive here, im guessing IUD should also be subsidized as its a BC thing) find a good gynecologist there first and then discuss IUD. it should be no problem at all.

Re: Plz reply help Question about iud

Cost in Pakistan for para guard 2500-3000 rupees.

That is so cheap. I paid $698 two years ago for Paraguard. All out of pocket. That’s close to Rs 70,000. Wow.

Re: Plz reply help Question about iud

Are you in the US? Check with planned parenthood.. They will do it for free.

Gemini I got it inserted from a Planned Parenthood in CO & they charged me this amount. It included two follow up visits for additional 25 bucks each.

After that I just went to my OB for further follow ups.

Is this for all states or some?

Re: Plz reply help Question about iud

Bint.. really? I used to work in public health in mass and had to refer some women to planned parenthood.. they consider income, insurance etc and most of the time it ended up being free while some paid about 10% or less of the cost. may be CO is different? or probably your income level didn’t make you eligible for that?

Re: Plz reply help Question about iud

There are two types available. The copper T (non hormonally coated) and the Mirena (hormonally coated). With doctor services, it would at max cost you 9000-10000 NOT more than that at all.

Re: Plz reply help Question about iud

If the IUD came out by itself, shouldn’t the insurance cover it because you did not have it removed by the doctor by choice. I would first ask my insurance if they will cover it citing the reason.

It might have been the latter. I remember my insurance wasn’t covering IUD while covering other forms of birth control so my ob’s office had suggested Planned Parenthood. PP did ask for income verification & insurance as well. Even the $25 follow ups were more like a copay because my insurance was still paying around $90 to PP for these two visits. They just weren’t covering the actual cost of IUD or insertion.
