So my friend is getting married. She is plus size (Eu size 42-44, UK 14-16) and she is also pretty tall, I would say about 58 maybe (Im 57 and she is bit taller). And well she asked my help to find her the perfect bridal lehengha. She is thinking about letting her aunt do her lehengha but she needs ideas! I tried looking some bridal pics, but cant find any pics where bride would be about that size. So do u have any ideas what kinda style would look good? I tried convincing her that she isnt even that "big" because she is tall so she doent even look “big”, but she said that she feels fat and doesn`t want to feel like that in her wedding day. So I really want to make her feel beautiful (because she is) on her wedding day

I think if you friend is tall MashAllah she should use it to her advantage and get a lovely long shirt, which would cover up any bits she doesnt want showing and ive heard A-line shirts make you look slimmer…
i think the rule generally is to draw attention away, so maybe focus the embroidary on the neckline area rather than have it close to the tummy area as it will draw attention…or a vertical pattern will make her look slimmer…

Long kameez styles with slits, either on side or front, to not look round, big necks are much better then sherwani collars or smaller necks, tbh a 14-16 isnt that big if your that height.! I used to be a 22, and im a 16 now and same height, i have the fat moments, (sigh) but i reckon the heigh gives an advantage. I went for long sleeve, as my arms were where my weight mainly was and i dnt like short sleeves, if u have big arms they empahsise them more. Tell ur friend to relax! Take her time and not be afraid to play around with styles.!

I think she doesn't even look that big! Like she doesn't have her weight in one place, she doesn't have like big stomach or really big thighs. Her weight is even in her body and because of that and because she is tall I honestly think she doesnt have any problem to find suitable lehengha. I wish I could make her believe that! But yeah I think longer shirt will be good choice for her. And I know she is self contiguous about her arms, so what u think about if sleeves are 3/4 long? or then see-though?

Mine are long for first day and 3/4 for second, my sister tried convincing me to go for see through as the sleeve will have motifs etc but i personally couldnt as im just too conscious of the ligthing and flash etc on the big day.! And tbh long sleeves are really in and look nice!

I love sleeves in this dress and actually I love that dress (except that open front). I dont know would something like this look good also on plus size bride if that front isn’t open, and fabric wont be see-though anywhere else than in sleeves? But yeah I personally love this dress and with few changes it would be perfect for me (I have image in my head:D Just with few changes and different color) but still Im thinking showing that design for my friend:)
My valima outfit is cut like this! But my back of the kameez is longer, and slightly longer at front.! Its a nice style! Its not necessary for anything to be see through to look nice, although sheer arms do look pretty in certain colours etc.!

an empire waist with detailing on it would compliment her figure.But it must be cut to perfection & that maybe a problem with home-designing so make sure she has a great tailor.
