AsSalaamo Alaikum,

The hadith that I have come across only mentions Tattoos, and plucking eyebrows to change their shape (making them thinner, or altering their shape). I have not come across any hadiths about plucking of upper lips yet. Can you please cite the hadith that you’re referring to?

I was taught that eyebrows were ok if you had a unibrow or something as it would be classed as a ‘deformity’ (not really the right word lol but am sure you know what I mean)..

so just out of curiosity…why is plucking the eyebrows considered “changing Allah’s creation” but not plucking the hair on the upper lip?
my initial instinct is to assume that changing the shape of the eyebrows alters your appearance somewhat but so does removing upper lip hair…

i dont think dat plucking upper lips cause any kind of change in our features

I can give you guys a technical answer that you can take to the bank and cash it.

Eyebrow is the hair strip grown on the ridge, that is the hard bone right above your eye lid. Any growth of hair above and below that ridge is not part of your eyebrow, just like the hair that connect both sides to make it a unibrow are not part of eyebrow. Any hair that is not part of eyebrow can be removed.

It’s just like Daarhee for men. Daarhee literally means strip of hair on your Daarh, or jaw bone. Men are allowed to shave cheek hair and growth under and around the throat line.
