So one learned, intelligent and respected scholar can tell us Allah will curse the woman that plucks one hair from the eybrow and another learned, intelligent and respected scholar can say selectively cleaning up the eyebrow is permissable. So where was my post wrong?
Why do people feel the need to rely on scholars to intepret religion?
Why do people think God has a preference for every single tiny cultural practice in life?
Why do people feel the Quran wasn’t God’s final word and think that He would leave it up to he said, he said for us to figure out if God curses us for something? I’m sorry, but being cursed by God is a pretty darn important matter that people are leaving up to he said, he said on such *trivial *matters.
As far as I'm aware the beard is only that which grows on the jawbone, the hair on the cheeks and neck is not part of the beard.
I think a well groomed beard with the excess hair around it removed looks quite handsome, especially on the young TJ brothers, a beard starting under the eyes is not pretty.
It is better to deplete than to shave because shaving leaves an unnaturally straight line and messes the complexion up..
What claim ?
I think it is well known /documented fact that keeping beard is encouraged in islam and keeping it (and whole body) nice/clean shape is also part personal grooming which is also recommended in Islam.
rest I agree with you.
Hareem01- strict (so-called) scholars also say that women must cover themselves from head to toe including eyes. And those who keep eyes open for view(but still keep whole body covered) are misguided and women of loose moral. So pick your scholar carefully.
I would request all the posters here to watch Aalim online's today's episode where they dealt with the same question. The Hanafi and Jafri aalims gave references from the Quran and I found the analysis to be highly progressive, enlightened and refreshing. It will surely remove any ambiguity and confusion anyone has regarding the issue.

plucking eyebrows is a sin..... wow *
*what is next...clipping your nails and trimming your nose hair is a straight pass to hell..... For god sake..... ppl
This entire topic seems a bit foolish when you consider circumcision being such an integral part of the faith, which irreversibly scars and changes Allah's creation.
Removing some hair is a grave matter, but ripping off flesh isn't?
but ...i have seen many women ...with ultra beautiful cut and shape ..and curve of eye brows..which make thier big beautiful eyes ..more dramatic..and attractive....
and islam..which not allows..women to come out of house un necessary..not allows her to speak with ghair mahram..un necesaary...not allows her to use perfume which fragrance spreads..not allows her to give azan ..not allows her to interfere in the mistake of imam..only strike bangles..no voice at all....
in all these matters....its not look ..so harsh ...if islam says that ..not to make your eyes beautiful...even if she takes niqaab...only watchable things are eyes..and if you make it more dramatic ...by Teera-i-Nazar of Urdu Poetry..and Kaman of eye brows..as ( teer kaman ....teer is eyes ..and kaman is eye brows)whats the purpose of Niqaab left behinds...
I'll say again that Difference of opinions is permissible in Islam. Both opinions might be right, follow which ever opinion you think is right.
PS: Scholarly opinions are based on more than one hadith, I'm not talking about self declared scholars of one hadith.
Let us be logical here
Imagine there is a person A. She has the same doubt. She hears both the interpretations from mullah A and hears another interpretation from mullah B. She decides to follow her own interpretation. Is it OK or not OK.
If differences of opinion is permissible in Islam, then why have scholars. Why cant people go in for their interpretations..
"differences of opinion is permissible in Islam".....if true then this makes Islam the most flexible religion in the world which obviously is not the case......I think it's just an excuse for super religious followers of the 1400 year old rules to justify themselves. Everybody knows that if all the ancient rules are followed then they cannot live in this mordern world.

Yes she can do that if she has knowledge.

People can go in or their interpretations if they think they have enough wisdom and knowledge about Islam.

The proof for my statement is that Islam has four famous different schools of thought, all of them have differences but they don't label each other deviant or kaafir......you can follow any of them or even you don't have to follow any of them in order to be a muslim.
