Bermuda
and
Netherlands

These two teams qualified for World Cup cricket and came to West Indies hoping to show their mettle and rub shoulders with the big guys. They probably hoped to make a few competitive games and have nice memories to take back to their homelands.

Netherlands was given a rude awakening by South Africa and Gibbs practically rubbed their faces in the mud. By the way, when a batsman hits 6 sixes in one over, the idea is not to merely score runs, but to make a point. And the point is that this bowler doesn’t qualify to bowl to me.

And then we have Bermuda. They are being treated like a friggin’ punching bag by other teams in their group. Every one is using them to up their NRR. Today they were handed the largest defeat in thei history of ODI cricket.

Both these teams have a negative run rate of -5.0 after two games!

Dunno about you guys, but I really feel sorry for these two teams. This is no way to treat a junior member of cricket fraternity. Bad bad ICC. Its like putting an amateur golf player in front of Tiger Woods. If you are gonna do that at least give them some handicap (using a golf terminology). This is just so insulting.

Re: Please spare a thought for...

^^ Excellent Point. Shame ICC.

Re: Please spare a thought for...

Sahi kaha faisal bhai agree with you

Re: Please spare a thought for...

Shouldve put them in Pakistan's pool. We wouldve made sure to make them feel special.

Re: Please spare a thought for...

^^ lol, i doubt that pakistan would have been able to beat these teams

Re: Please spare a thought for...

ur point could have been valid earlier, but we saw what ireland did

Re: Please spare a thought for...

I will repeat my comments from the other thread. If cricket becomes popular in great sporting nations such as USA, China, Japan, France and Germany, both Pakistan and Indial will be struggling even to qualify for the world cup finals!

Re: Please spare a thought for...

^^ i dont know about struggling to qualify

but ya, winning the world cup will be long ways off

Re: Please spare a thought for...

Wrong, even if cricket does not become popular in these sporting nations, we can still be struggling to qualify for WC.

Re: Please spare a thought for...

Yeh these countries will have desi's from India and Pakisan playing for them. For the first time outsourcing will have a negative effect on India when the good players from both india and pakistan get hired to play for US and etc.

Re: Please spare a thought for...

5abi its not outsourcing. Its called immigration :p
