Re: please share your tricks that make your Roza go better

I prep both iftaari and dinner but havent had dinner after eating iftaari since we're soooo full - I dnt work so i usually stay up all night and sleep after sehri -

  • drink lassi or have a few tbsp of plain yogurt during sehri to quench the thirst all day - Alhumdulillah its helped me alot

  • if you make paratha's for sehri - you can decrease the time your in the kitchen by making a batch of like 20 parathas at once - jst dont add oil to them, as soon as the first side starts to get brown flip and brown the other side a little bit and take off the tawa - that way during sehri u only have to oil the paratha's - you can store these in the freezer and take out as many as u need to sehri and thaw them out overnight in the fridge :)

  • also, save a few minutes right before azaan and brush your teeth. I find it helps with the bad breath -

Yes, I always brush and floss and mouth wash after sehri but before azaan

Re: please share your tricks that make your Roza go better

Being an insomniac and having less workload these days is making my rozay go fine. I didnt go well with proper sehri so I just limit myself to some liquid, like lassi, I have been taking for a couple of days. I remain faithful to the aftaar ritual which must involve atleast 3 to four items plus an energiser like lemonade or like.. and then the dinner. Works well for the next 17/18 hours for me.

wow that’s awesome..dedication…
i wud like to do the same but that wud mean having to spend iftari in the gym and leave husband alone..which i dont want to do.

Re: please share your tricks that make your Roza go better

How does my roza go easier? can't say since none of my rozay have been difficult thus far (alhumdulillah) but over the weekend what helped was eating eggs for sehri..eggs keep u full.

i am not used to eating in the morning so i just drink sum water/milk for sehri and hope for the best.:hinna:

Re: please share your tricks that make your Roza go better

i used to get insanely hungry last year and used to feel roza so much :smack:

but Alhamdolilah this year what i’ve started doing is eating sehri good not stuffing myself but eating enough and then for iftaar i eat enough also not stuff myself but eat enough to fill my belly and then i don’t eat any dinner or anything…keeps me going and keeps me hungry for sehri alsoo

OR it’s prolly nothing of that sort and just Allah(swt) making it easy for me  in which case a big fat ALHAMDOLILLAH

wow- what amazing tips here.

Re: please share your tricks that make your Roza go better

Fresh juice is so filling.

I agree with you TLK. Having something light to open roza like fruit or dates and then going to pray magrib puts your actual into perspective. Normally you will find you are not that hungry.

As rozay are quite late this year, we tend not to have fried foods. Instead there are a few salads, dahi, salaan and roti. Something sweet for afters.

Being over indulgent would defeat the purpose of this month.

Some nice tips here :k:

Re: please share your tricks that make your Roza go better

Zantac helps me a lot during ramadan!

When my entire family is around *(very rare) *we just have soup and pray.. then we lounge around with nuts/dates and Arabic coffee.. and then slightly before Isha'a.

Sometimes I need my pakoray sigh

Re: please share your tricks that make your Roza go better

nothing really lasts so long in the stomach. the weekend rozas are better coz u can sleep in in the mornings. but during the weekdays, when u have to be at 7 and cant break fast till past 8pm, theres really nothing you can do but sabr......

eat protein, khajoors, and lots of fluids.
