your humble servant has been saying these things for so long at GS and so glad to see that now right wing urdu columnists are reaching to same conclusion…
no religion alone has ever systematized human civilization … and islam cannot do that either. Religion is good to bring discipline (namaz, roza) and spirituality (haj, belief in god) into your life and to give you an identity but it is not a system in itself. That is why you need a proper system to run a government in which every stakeholder and every minority has a say.
The notion that we keep repeating like idiots “islam is a complete way of life…we are doing bad coz we dont follow islam blah blah, west is doing great coz they follow islam” does not mean anything…west does not follow ISLAM..they shunned religious monarchy 300 years ago and have their own democratic principles based on secularism…
and remember islam was at its peak under 4 Caliph](Caliphate - Wikipedia)s when muslims were more unified with very few to no sects and yet 3 caliphs were murdered … yes murdered! … because there was no system…all of this discussed in detail in the following article.
We need a proper system…not religion in everything for god sake. Javed Ch does not want to get killed so he is careful in his choice of words but you can sense what he is trying to say … Islam for your own sake but a secular system to run the govt with no interference form any one religion or sect.
