CHICAGO: Renowned poet Ahmed Faraz is alive and still under medical treatment at a local hospital here, said his physician Tahir Rohail, brushing aside the earlier report of his death aired by state TV.
** He is critical, but alive, **but yes thin hopes, but Allah can do anything,
Please pray for his life and health, may Allah give him life and health, aamin summa aamin!
GEO NEWS,
when they announced the news of his death, they didn't mentioned they steal this news from PTV, but now after update, GEO is keep on telling this news was telecast by PTV! ... shame on GEO!
Instead of asking a person who herself don’t know, and its not a confirmed news yet, will it not be a good idea to change the title to some appropriate one instead of “Ahmed Faraz Passed Away!”?
A great poet indeed. He was awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz by Musharraf in 2004, and in 2006 he returned it after becoming disenchanted with the brutal dictatorship of Musharraf and his policies. These are his words:
**
"My conscious will not forgive me if I remained a silent spectator of the sad happenings around us. The least I can do is to let the dictatorship know where it stands in the eyes of the concerned citizens whose fundamental rights have been usurped. I am doing this by returning the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (civil) forthwith and refuse to associate myself in any way with the regime..." a statement issued by the poet.**
keep the politcs out from the life of a great poet that defined my romantic tastes. Honours are given as thanks form a grateful nation to his heroes and Musharaf, Benazir, ,Mian, Bhotto, Ayub Khan or Gen. Zia all represent the country and gave it as a thanks from Pakistan, since he deserved it. Let me remined that Faraz once flirted with Communism at a time when Russians were killing our brothers in Afghansitan, Bugti refused to speak Urdu as long as Zia was alive, Fez another of my favourite accepted Lenin's PRize for "PEACE", simply ludicrous! lets pray for his life as a national asset and pray Allah to give us inspiration for Loving His creations, Amen!
