actually, i’ve heard another version of this ‘joke’. the father loudly recites an verse in Arabic sounding Urdu so that his son could get the message about what’s in the menu. he says:

“qorma-tun, qaliya-tun yahaN to haiyana [hai hii na], faqat daalam masoora!”** :rotfl:

[yahaN to qorma aur kalehii gurda to hai nahiiN, sirf masoor kii daal hai]

yeh sunnaa thaa k beTaa yeh jaa vo jaa! :cb:
