I use Make up forever Hd foundation in 127. I was thinking about getting revlon color stay to save myself some money until I try MAC next month. I am planning on getting my makeup done at mac for a wedding so I want to wait to but that until August.
Could someone please recommend a shade for me in revlon color stay? I plan on taking my empty bottle with me to the drugstore but I am so clueless about my shade.
I've never used Revlon Colorstay so can't help you there.
But if you're planning on buying MAC in a month anyway....why buy a whole bottle of Revlon? Why not go to MAC or Nordstorm right now....have them match your color and get a sample? Use that sample until you buy the bottle next month.
I was thinking about buying mac full coverage foundation b/c I saw it on Goss MUA…. it looks like a compact so Idk how they would give me a sample. However, that is a great idea!! I could just ask for a sample and save myself some money :)
Do you think a sample would last me a month and two weeks though? I seriously have no foundation left.
I really wanted to try revlon colorstay also… and use it for day to day makeup. So I could save my more expensive makeup for special occasions. This is what I have been doing with my other makeup also. like eyeliners, etc. The only products that I use on a daily basis right now that are not drugstore are my foundation, blush, and eye shadows. My blush and eyeshadows never run out so I don't mind but I am trying to find a drugstore foundation.
^ Revlon colorstay is a great foundation that gets amazing reviews. My mom actually uses this. To be honest, I don't get this concept of having a drugstore foundation for daily use versus an expensive one for special occasions. Revlon Colorstay is full coverage so I'm not quite sure what difference it would be from MAC Full Coverage.
Anyway......if you're interested in MAC, go try several different ones and get 2-3 samples. I used to use their Studio Fix and loved it. You can also go to other various counters and get samples....like Lancome, Estes Lauder, NARS, Bobby Brown etc. If you're not ready to make a purchase right now....then get 6-7 samples and see what you like best.
As for the foundation being creme.....it depends on the sales person but I've been to MAC before and gotten samples of their creme foundation. They just scoop out a little bit out of their tester and put it in a jar. It never hurts to ask. :)
^ I went and bough it today. I bough 320 true beige and it is perfect!
It is very smooth and light. I did not feel it on my skin at all. It matches my skin way better than N127 MUFE did. I do think that it is sheer when compared to my MUFE foundation.
I like all my high end products but I just need something drugstore right now and did not want to fork up 44$… this cost me only 10$! I am very happy.
I will try other foundations too. I heard MAC oxidizes a lot but I have heard great things about the coverage.
I generally have clear skin but like a bit more coverage on special occasions and haven't seen anything with full coverage in the drugstores yet.
@ shopping fan, You should go to the counter and get matched. Make sure they do not only put it on ur jawline.. try a bit on other areas to make sure it is a match.
I wish they had BB counters here in Lahore, that would be so easy then. Only one store, Al fathah got 3_4 shades in BB stick and that even we cant try on, cause they dont carry testers.
Shades 4, 4.5 are great for 'medium' skin tones. I know it's sad that there's no place in Pakistan which offers testers for make-up. It's necessary to try out foundations before buying them! :(
Thanks, and yes right about try foundations before buying. I was so tempted to buy a Bobby Brown stick , but the SA didn't let me try it on skin, as no testers were available.
