what do you guys think about it? Is it too plain/simple?
It is by zainab sajid, I called them up and got a quote for the dress it would be 95,000 pkr as is with sleeves and with a duppata that would have the pink (like the darker pink from the bottom) all around the four borders and some sequins sprinkled all of the duppata. and the sleeves would be churidaar sleeves with a one inch border of the pink and perhaps the sprinkled sequins as well. the “wearable” version he told me has the front covered obviously.
but to lower the price he suggested that I remove the work from the side panels (you see how theres a line on each side going down and then in the last pic you can see theres a big motif so he said I can remove that from each side the dress would still have the side panels but no work on it and instead sprinkled sequins all over it. this would bring the price down to 75,000 pkr.
and if i wanted to remove the back motif then it would be 70,000 pkr.
I am wondering if you guys think that is a good price. He did say that if I was able to confirm the order in a day or two he would be able to dispatch it in 40 days.
Should I take a chance and get my cousin/aunt in pak to try and get it replicated? or just pray the price and be safe cause at least it would be the real thing?
also what do you think my husband can wear that would go with this? we are just having a nikah ceremony for now possible in a mosque so he wanted to wear shalwar kameez or something but what color? if he wore white as well would that look too weird??
oh god I have so many questions haha. thanks for all your helpppppp!!!
this dress is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesooooooooooooooooooooooome dear... if there is a dinner party after the nikkah ceremony then go for the full prize my dear or else it will look to simpel.... but dont go for the less work (^^)
i have tired a replicated dress, it comes out really awesome ;D but it has to be a darzi who you can trust n u knw he will do it as u want it (^^)
Personally i don't want to pay that much for the Nikah because i want it to be simple so i will get something made for a few hundred pounds, i don't want to pay more than £300...then again i have never been to a Nikah ceremony so i'm not sure what people wear or do :s
I wana save my money for my bridal, that i can show off to everyone hehe
Hey, congrats on your upcoming nikkah! I think the dress itself is very pretty, and the front has a lot of work on it, so even if you got rid of the back motifs and replaced it with sequins, it will still suit the occasion. Many girls I know wore a white dress to their nikkah, it's the most popular color out there! And white itself is quite elegant, especially if it has embroidery like this dress does. So, in answer to your question, no, I don't think it's too simple for the nikkah, it suits the occasion perfectly! Girls tend to go all out on the reception anyway.
Secondly, I don't know if that's a good price, moreso because I have no idea how much that would be in dollars :P
Thirdly, the groom wearing a white shalwar kameez isn't weird. It would be nice to match on the wedding day. The groom's attire will be quite different than your's, therefore the similarity in the color won't be weird or anything.
@ teri nazar: I am not sure yet if there will be a dinner or what after the nikah, haha but there will still be a photoshoot so either way I wouldn't want it to be too simple but I believe the side panel work shouldn't make too much of a difference to the look. and yea that is what I am worried about if I get it replicated and what if they don't make it the same :( I live in canada and I always have such a hard time with my family in pakistan cause they all mean well for me but no matter how many times you tell them to make it exactly a certain way it ends up different :( cause somehow something just looks better to them the way they made it haha.
@ supergirl85: yea, i know what you are saying that is exactly why I am a bit confused whether or not to spend so much. if I get it replicated it shouldn't cost more than 600dollars which is around 300 pounds i believe. but its just that I don't know who I can trust to replicate it for me :(
@ strawberry87: thanks so much :) I totally agree with you about wearing white even though people are scarring me that the pics wont come out nice and its such a pale color and stuff you know? but I really love it and I find it so elegant thats why I wanted to hear from all the experts on here. lol im the oldest and so is my fiance so our parents/families are kind of lost as to how everything should go hahaha. I think that 95,000 pkr = 1,067 canadian dollars and 75,000pkr = 840 canadian dollars. so i guess it is a bit expensive for a simple nikah? but to me its one of the most important days of my life regardless of whether its done in a masjid or with 300-400 people around you know? hmmm yea I wanted to match with him but I was wondering if everything would just be too white if we both wore white? but yea you are right his will be different than mine so it should look nice.
75K is a lot of money but not bad for a good designer outfit - i say go for it if you can. Your nikkah is the most special day of your life and you want to look back and be happy with how you presented yourself to your husband!
White has always been my favorite color, loving this dress. go for it :)
and if your hubby will wear white, it wont look weird, it will look decent too ..
That's beautiful! go for it girl - aakhir orignal cheez orignal he hoti hai, and the price seems pretty decent to me. But it's all up to U!
Good luck :) x
Omg lovely dress.. do post pictures, i would love to see what it turned out to be.. i'd say, remove the kaam on the back and keep everything else.. when's your wedding? this would look great as a valima dress as well :)
Light/baby pink is a fav of mine and this dress is gorgeous. It isn't plain and would look great if you dress it up with nice jewellery/ makeup and if it's a day thing, this color would be perfect. Something light colored for Nikkah ceremony is a option lot of brides are taking.
I say go for it. The price is good for a designer outfit.
PS: A guy wearing white isn't weird at all. I think you both will look cute if you match it up a bit. (He could go for a other shade's of white like cream/beige..etc too)
thank you so much girls!! :)<3
my wedding will be next summer Inshallah. yea it was my second option to wear this as my valima outfit but then I realized I can wear any color for the valima but white would look elegant and simple for a simple nikah ceremony you know. that is why I opted for this. thanks so much for all your views!! <3
