I have a dilema and am hoping someone can help out. My cycles are long and irregular. They are normally anywhere from approximately 35-45 days but normally closer to 45 days. The longest cycle I have had in the last year (only been tracking for 1 year) was 47 days. That was 6 days ago and now day 53 is almost over and no sign of my period yet (not even spotting). I got a blood test this morning to check if I am pregnant but I don’t feel pregnant at all. I have absolutely no symptoms at all.
Is it normal to be 1 week late and not have any symptoms? I’m very scared that if I actually am pregnant and there are no symptoms it might end in a miscarriage because I’ve had a miscarriage in the past at approximately 7 weeks and I also had no symptoms at that time.
Please tell me how long after your expected period date will symptoms start to appear. I’m scared because I’m reading sometimes symptoms start even before your period is due. Please help. I’m very worried. I want a viable pregnancy so badly!

First of all
Please know that every woman is different and get symptoms at different times of their pregnancy. When do you get the results of the blood test…have you taken a HPT ?

Hi Ramsha! Well I had the blood test this morning and normally it takes two to three days for the doctor to get the results so I am hoping by either tues or wed the results should be in.
I have not taken an HPT test. The last time I got pregnant and miscarried right away, I had to take 3 tests before it came out positive. The first one was a urine test at the doctor's office and it came negative. A week later I took a blood test - negative. A week after that another blood test and this time it was positive but the day I got the result I started bleeding and had a miscarriage.
For this reason, I decided not to take a HPT because I feel as though it may come negative and blood tests are more reliable. Also in the absense of any symptoms, I doubt I would have enough HCG in my body for it to show up in an HPT or blood test and that is what has me worried sick.

I know its hard, but try and do some things to take your mind off of it. Lots of women have no symptoms early on and go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies.
I didn't really have any symptoms until about week 6 or 7 when my breasts started hurting but other then that I didn't have anything else until about week 10 when the morning sickness kicked in.

Ok thanks...that puts me at ease a bit. Anyway, if it is meant to be it will happen (InshaAllah). I'm just scared because the first miscarriage was very hard on me emotionally and I dont ever want to go through that again.

Don't worry at all.... I had a symptom free pregnancy! I only felt like sleeping every 3 hours but that was it! So no symptoms showing does not mean anything... moreover if God forbid it was a miscarriage.... you would have symptoms like immense cramping or bleeding. So in this case InshAllah... no news is good news :D

and just because your previous pregnancy seemed similar prior to miscarriage, doesn't mean this one will be the same-- if you are really restless and can't wait until wednesday, take the HPT. insha'Allah it will be the news you are hoping for.
