I’m new to the forum- this is my first post and I really need your help please : )
I’m trying to find a make-up artist for my wedding (in the UK) and have no clue where to start. There’s good and bad reviews on all the big names, but then I’m a bit worried about going with a local/ less known artist in case it all goes wrong!
Are there any artists you guys would recommend?
From reading reviews etc I think I’ve ruled out Sadaf (Allenora), Naveeda, Lubna Rafiq and Ambreen. And it is difficult to tell with artists such as Gini Bhogal, Jawaad Ashraf, Dil Matharu because they never post photos of real brides on their site. I do not think magazine covers/photo shoots are a true reflection of their work because the photos are edited so much.
I know the only way to get a real idea is to go for trials but they’re so expensive so I can’t possibly have trials for all of them : (
At the moment I’m thinking of maybe going with Avina (Faces by Avina) or Saira Hussain. But I’d appreciate any advice/recommendations you guys can give me!

I'm not knocking the "big names" but sometimes you can hit jackpot with a local make-up artist and they probably won't charge as much. In terms of finding someone local, have a look on facebook - loads of not big name artists don't have their own websites but they do have facebook profiles so look out for people who have "MUA" after their name on their profiles.
If you wanna check someone out before having a bridal trial, why not book yourself in for "party hair & make-up" as far as I know (in the north west at least) they usually charge £40 for this. Gives you a chance to see if you're happy with the way they work - book it for a day/night that you're going to a party/wedding/whatever and then it won't be a "waste" of the make-up - you can even ask other people what they think etc.

add dil matharu as a friend on facebook and you'll be able to see pictures of actual brides and not models.. he usually posts them on a weekly basis...
