Re: Dubai clothing help

hey just came back from dubai last week, got all my clothes from meena bazar. Basically we were short on time and my thaye jaan has a really awsome taylor. we had abt 11 suits made in the space of 5 days!!!!! he was awsome...and its well worth getting ur cloth and then getting it stiched cos the ready made stuff wasnt as WOW as getting it custom made.

Re: Dubai clothing help

sum good shops in burdubai are"ghunghat main", they have 2 branches there. also regal has sum good 3 piece suits as well as benzer. there is also a shop called shoaib trading that has a few heavy suits. hope this helps.

Honestly speaking, I would much much rather shop in Pakistan if I had the option..the clothes in Dubai are mostly indian and overpriced.

Re: Dubai clothing help

well pakistan is always the first option...but there is nothing u cant get in dubai....bargining is the key...trust me they will come down to the actual price.... i paid 125 for a 300 dirham suit...so yea its not impossible...bt the best is getting it tailor made :D

Re: Dubai clothing help

Sohni how did u manage to bring the price down so much...the most they all go down to for us is 25 dhms:( my bargaining skills suck!

Re: Dubai clothing help

hahahaha yea u jst be like nahi plz plzzz bhai saaabbbbbb plzzzzz kardein na thora kum...then u walk out a few times, then u come back in...then u giv them ur last price...walk out and they call u back in and u hand them another 10 less hahahaha :D

Re: Dubai clothing help

Wow, such bargaining skills. I just hope they don't find out I'm American born and try to cheat me. Sure I'm from America but cannot afford to pay soo much for an outfit. My hubs and I are not doctors or lawyers. hehe.. The thing is I cannot go to Pakistan..I am just going to India and Dubai. I hear Indian clothes are not that good. Actually, the Indian websites or shops I have been to are awful. I prefer Pakistani made clothes. Maybe I'll ask my Moms darzi in Pakistan to make me a few outfits. But then I will just get a few ready made outfits from Dubai. Thanks for all your help.

Re: Dubai clothing help

I guess I 'll have to take my friend there..I am not sure what to do..the brides sister asked me to custom make her outfit!! Maybe I should tell my Mom to get it done in Pak for her..I'm so young and wouldn't know whats a good price or not..I wish my mom was coming with me..eee. one more thing, is it possible to get 2 outfits custom made in three days? If not, I can have them sent to India right? How about fabric, where shall I get that from? .ok..thanks again girls.

Re: Dubai clothing help

ok well like i said b4, my darzi the contact info i gave above will defo help u out....i had to fly back and gave him a suit in the morning and he gave it to me that day......and the price for material in dubai is around 220-400 thats the price they quote u wen u first ask them depending on how heavy it is...dont pay more than 150 for semi formal suits....and dont pay more than 250 for slightly heavy suits.....i learned this from my chachi/thaye jaan...
and u can get the material from the shops i quoted above...or anywer around the area of my darzi cos once ur there u'll see wots on offer. :D

Re: Dubai clothing help

Thanks Sohni! This helps alot.

Clothes in Dubai

I would like to know if the wedding clothes are nicer and cheaper in Dubai. Im in a dilemma because I dont know if I should go to Pakistan to get my clothes.
Since the situation in Pakistan is bad, I am quite scared of going there.

Please also let me know the price difference. I am looking for beautiful ready-made lehngas. I am also interested in buying Indian style lehngas if they are available in Dubai.

thanks

U'll find a lot of Indian style lehnga's/sari/churidaar's but for Pakistani material and fabric u really have to hunt. There are a few high-end boutiques like Kimaya, Soiree, HSY where u can find designer clothes and material.

You can shop from:

  1. LuLu .. Deira Opp to Sheraton Hotel / Al Ghusais
  2. Meena Bazar – Bur Dubai ( Standard and Normal )
  3. Satwa Textiles Market – Noraml
  4. Sharjah Near UAE Exchange

You can get good indian dresses, if you go to Lulu dept store, Karama, and even even meena bazar (north indian/sindhi's fav shopping spot). Nice and elegant fancy purses can be found in Lifetstyle and in Shoe mart and the outlets can be found in a lot of malls like Reef mall, Mall of Emirates and Lamcy Plaza.

To shop for Indian clothes you should definately visit SHARJAH .The shops are located in Rolla, behind Pizza Hut. Consider this just as a starting point. It is a must visit place with all the Clothes shop, craft shop, tailor shops and all the clothing accessories. Do go into the small footpaths to get the best.

Don't forget to Bargain! They will surely give discounts.

Re: Clothes in Dubai

Honestly i think, its a complete waste of time getting something done or even try to find something out in Dubai, Sharjah wateva...

The material is so cheap.... and the work does not last long either.... not to mention u have such a limited variety here.....

if i were u, I WOULD DEFINITELY go to pak and do wedding shopping n stuff. As i will be going in Jan to do so :) for my sisters wedding

Re: PLEASE HELP ME!!! Wedding Shopping in Dubai

bridal dress from ‘ghungat’ in meena bazar at 12,000 dirhams, dabkay ka kaam

I’d get a designer outfit for that much in Pakistan! You could get a Bunto, Dr. Haroon lehnga for that price! :nahi:
