Re: plz help me out
Correct me if i’m wrong, but 10 lakhs converts to just under £7,500. Now is this money just for your fees, or is this for your living expense, or both? I don’t think that is enough to study abroad… ![]()
I think you should stay in Pak. They have excellent Universities over there.
Re: plz help me out
^ ditto. I'd listen to her if I were you, she's well clever.
7500- is really not enough.

Re: plz help me out
I think £7,500 are enough to study in the UK. You can come here and you can earn for your living expenses by working on weekends at a supermarket or fastfood resturant etc.
Re: plz help me out
£7500 good enough to study in uk???...i have searched for many unis and all of them have fees starting from £9500...could you give me a few names as that would save me money?..
Re: plz help me out
Well my flat mate from Sri Lanka came to the UK with just £1,500 2 and half years ago. Now he has completed his Masters in Marketing from London's South Bank University. But definitely one has to struggle a lot while working and studying simultaneously.

HI
I lives in Singapore, and my family member studied at local university, if you need to know anything about Singapore, I can help you.
Re: plz help me out
Ok
My vote is for Singapore as its universities offers best quality education, except tire one Universities in US/UK, Singapore's Universities are ranked higher.
As admission is too competitive, any of 3 National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanayang Technological University (NTU) or Singapore Management University (SMU) offers you an admission. You would be stupid to decline (Unless you can get into 1st Tire Uni in UK or US)
Most importantly Singapore is regional HQ for most MNC, unlike UK. Australia and US, all every company hires from these 3 Universities resulting 80% graduates secure jobs before graduation.
As for graduates student, Singapore has is a policy to offer them permanents residence status as soon as they graduate and secure 1st job (now they are a bit careful about Pakistani but it should be all right).
These all informations are limited to graduate students only, not sure about post graduate, however as long as you earn your degree from these 3 Uni and found an employer willing to hire you will be ok.
By they what is your area of interest?
Best regards.

Oh thats useful information about Singapore!
I hope you are being sarcastic.
I do believe NUS and NTU are top universities in the world. I rate them lower then Top tire, which Oxbridge, and few US schools. But better 2nd tire schools in UK/US.
Most of Singapore left outs (rejectee of local Universites admissions) chose to head for 2nd Tire University at UK/Australia and Canada. Even my own children only one could make it to local Uni, rest went oversea due same reason.
NTU: NTU at a glance: University Ranking
• In the last 4 years, NTU ranked in the top 100 Universities by The Times Higher Education - QS World University ranking:
• In 2008, NTU ranked 26th place as a technological university, and 77th position overall
• In the QS.com Asian University 2009, NTU ranked 14th place overall, and in 7th position for the IT & Engineering subject ranking in Asia.
• In the Financial Times MBA Ranking 2009, NTU was placed 24th globally, and within top 5 positions in the Asia-Pacific region.
NUS is ranked even higher then NTU in the
• NUS is ranked among the top universities once again. Based on the latest results of The Times Higher Education - Quacquarelli Symonds (THE-QS) World University Rankings, NUS was placed 30th among the world’s top 200 universities - and 4th in Asia. The University has consistently held its place among the top -rising three places in the current ranking.
• THE NUS Business School is ranked among the top 100 leading business schools for its Master of Business Administration (MBA) programmes by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). Ranked 89th, the NUS Business School has improved from last year’s ranking. The School was one of only two business schools in Asia to have improved on their rankings.
NUS Business School’s positioning as a premier school was further asserted by the Financial Times (FT) EMBA 2008 Rankings. The NUS Business School earned the 20th spot for its Asia-Pacific Executive Master of Business Administration (APEX) programme. It is the first business school in Singapore, and one of the very few in Asia, to have made it to the prestigious list. It is the third time that the APEX programme has been ranked in the top 20 by the Financial Times.
Both of these Univeristes have joint programs with MIT where student could get degree from both http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~smacs/downloads/roadshow03.pdf
SMU is a relatively new kid, but has excellent program, focusing in Business education. It has collaboration with Wharton School of Business.
In short time if its existence has made a big name in the market, employers sometime willing to pay slightly higher salary to SMU graduates.
According to my daughter graduate NBS (NTU) there all 3 universities has their distinctive style.
- NUS, too much focus on academics, graduates are tends to be more strong on academically but weaker in interpersonal, presentational skills.
- SMU too much focus on ability to speak in class, gradates mostly carries themselves well, very well at speaking, discussions. But may have a bit shallow knowledge base.
- NBS, as cross between both, strong emphasis in project work and equally on other skills.
These all only limited to respective business Schools, I am unable to comment or other areas but ranking speaks for itself.
I hope it detailed enough to satisfy you or any interested person. Feel free if need any further information.
I hope you are being sarcastic.
No way! I am not. I am sorry you felt like that.
It is really very useful information and I would like to consider it for my newphew.
Re: Please Help me out!!!
Maine yahan 3 baar likhne ki koshis ki…but all
I have a bachelors in engineering, and want to do a masters in business. I read tipu jee’s post and thought ke…the NBS is the best as i dont want to be neither too shallow nor too parakhu. What i want to know is, How are the living cost??..The support for a single muslim woman??Whether you can work alongside to studying and…in sum-total..how much money do you need?If somebody could please answer these Q’s…it would be great ![]()
Well,
You did not specify your field of intrest for your masters. Basically, Pakistan has very limited fields to choose from when looking for masters. Now, with 10 lakh, you wont even survive the so called LUMS university of Pakistan.
I dont want to scare you off, but do look for scolarships, ofcourse you do need excellent achievements in your previous studies for that. If not, some universities do offer financial aid to students. I just finished mine at Delft univeristy of technology (The Netherlands), you can look on their website for more information.
But the bottomline is, you wont survive with 10 lakh in any of the european countries. At the same time, Asian universities do rank among the best in the world as well. So, search on the net for universities offering financial aid to students from abroad. You may end up paying much less fees.
