we are having trouble narrowing down a muslim girls name with good meaning. I like Amara, Zarah, and Zoya. they are easy to pronounce and sound nice, would work well in the uk too. Zarah is quite common though but still great name and the other two are newer modern sounding names… please let me know what you guys think of the names, which is nicest and any other suggestions. thanks ![]()
Re: please help me decide!!
Of the 3 names, I like Zarah more.
Other suggestions Samar, Haana, Minal, Eeshal
Re: please help me decide!!
zoya is lovely
Re: please help me decide!!
I love Zoya.
What does Amara mean?
Re: please help me decide!!
Zoya!!!
I believe "Amara" which I've usually seen spelled "Ammarah" is the female version of "Ammar" (my son's name!) which means Builder and/or One who is strong in faith/din
Re: please help me decide!!
A close friend named her daughter Zoya. It's such a cute name!
love Amara too. I've always wanted to change my name to Amara when I was younger.
Aa ma ra (alif with a fattah, meen with a fattah and ra with a fattah) means To Command. Is it from the same root word?
Re: please help me decide!!
is Amina the sama as Amna?
or are they two different names?
Re: please help me decide!!
I think they are two different names. I hear Amna more these days.

Ammar/Ammarah is spelled with an "ain" with the emphasis on the "meem", so maybe I'm thinking of the wrong name? We picked Ammar because it was the name of a Sahabi, Ammar ibn Yasir.
عمار
Re: please help me decide!!

What does Zoya mean?
When were were looking for names I used to love Zoha too.The meaning I found was 'light',but then we were not able to find any further info about its origin etc so never went with it.I still love it though and Zoya sounds so similar.
