telling your best friend about engagement is an issue now??

Just tell her that she is engaged or soemthing…and something like ’ A is engaged now…and would like you to join us so that you can get over it’

The truth is in times like these if you're biggest enemy has gotten engaged, it wouldn't matter as much as if your best friend has... that's the way it is (I have a friend who went through a similar situation). Maybe I'm looking at it completely from S's p.o.v, but A can tell her and then both of you could help her out of the depression and keep the enthusiasm on a low for a bit. Hope it works out great for everyone in the end.

Just ask A to tell S...but make sure to include her in everything and be sensitive to her feelings right now. She needs her buddies.

As long as A had nothing to do with S' situation, I don't think there's any issue in just telling her the way she's telling everyone else.
