I need help in the validation of this Hadith. Please don’t be offended on reading this. I was trying to reply to a Hindu on another forum when this came up.
Please let me know if this is a valid Hadith and if so what is the correct translation.
Thank you
(SB 1.158 Abu Hurayra ) we read the following:
During the “call to prayer” , Satan turns his back and farts so as not to hear it. When the first call is completed, he turns round again until the second call and then he turns his back once more.
When it too is completed, he again turns round and tries to trouble the conscience of the believer by saying to him,
‘Remember this, remember that’, putting into the believer’s mind things which he was not thinking about. In this way he endeavours to bring him to the point where he no longer knows where he has got to in his prayer.
Ask him to give you the COMPLETE REFERENCES -that would be: Name of the book, name of the volume(number usually), narration Number…LINK TO THE SITE and so forth.
If he cannot provide anything like that from the saheeh books of hadith like BUkhari, Muslim and others, that means he has fabricated that hadith in order to cause harm to Islam and/or to make fun of it. Not that he has accomplished that.

Whether or not that is an authentic hadees, we all know this portion to be true. Whenever our thoughts stray away from Allah SWT during salat, its because of shaitan and noone else. Regarding the first portion, dont know about its authenticity. Would have to check on it.
