Notes: Please do not send any old clothes or else used item.
Tin sheets are required all over effected areas, if you are planning to donate try to buy tin sheets of 24 gage, no lower then 26, so far observation and experience forsee, tents wont resist against snowfall.
So if you are planning to donate, or you know some one who wants to, please ask them to invest in sheets for shelter against snow.
Have no idea when will be back online, but will try soon.
Regards,
YKKB.

Kashmir Earthquake Relief is an organization just like Islamic
Relief and InshAllah from Nov 18-24 we will be collecting winter tents,
sleeping bags, warm clothes, meds and any other essential gear that you
would be able to provide. You all might be thinking where does this all
go well kashmir relief helps the people in Srinagar, Kashmir and we
have people from New Delhi going to take all the stuff to Srinagar,
Kashmir InshAllah. For further information you can check out our website
www.kashmirrelief.org . Ask everyone you know to drop-off as much as they can and if you or
someone you knw can help please do so....
First of all, K.E.R. is now a member of Global Giving - a high
profile, very credible and effective philanthropic/funding network that
support social entrepeneurship worldwide. I am going to finalize all
the details in about an hour. So, congratulations everybody!
The North Face, Global Giving, and UPS have teamed up with Kashmir
Earthquake Relief to do a nation-wide collection of winter tents,
sleeping bags, warm clothes, and other essential gear.
* From Nov 18 to Nov. 24th, anybody can bring requested relief
materials to one of 10 NF retail stores accross the country, in
addition some 500 North Face affiliate store will organize their own
collections.
* UPS will be donating the packing materials and domestic shipping
to the a warehouse that K.E.R. is arranging near LAX (Hopefully, UPS
will do the international shipping to Delhi too.)
* There will be nation-wide advertising, pr, and media outreach to:
1) mobilize the public to support this gear-drop and 2) create
awareness about this disaster and K.E.R. efforts.
* North Face Mountaineering Team to visit Kashmir - Willie Engus,
who has summitted Everest 5 times, will lead a 6-member team of
world-famous mountaineers to visit the quake hit areas in Kashmir and
escort and deliver the gear-drop collection shipment to victims in
Kashmir. This will be an awareness generating exercise - the team will
be sending daily dispatches via satellite phone and will come back with
visuals and findings to present at fundraisers to be organized in the
USA on their return.
K.E.R. Urgent To-DO's
Volunteers
To make this happen, K.E.R. has committed to arrange volunteers in each
of the 10 store locations accross the country.
* From the Nov 18th to 24th, K.E.R. will need to have at least two
volunteers committed to assist retail store managers in collection of
the goods, transporting the goods to the nearest UPS store from where
they will be shipped to the national K.E.R. warehouse near LAX.
* Depending on volume of collection and availability of store
space, volunteers will need to make between 1 to 7 visits to the NF
stores in the evening and even less trips to the UPS store. IT IS A
MINIMAL AMOUNT OF TIME - approx. 4 hours total over 7 days.
* Volunteer now: please take a look at the following 10 store
locations and let us know you can volunteer for this, and help us find
others who can commit to volunteer for this. If you have family in
friends in these areas please call them and get them to commit. In
addition to a volunteer brigade in each area, we would want one
designated K.E.R. volunteer coordinator for each location - this person
would be in charge of coordinating volunteers, people with vehicles,
and working together with the NF and UPS store managers to set
volunteer pick-up and drop-off times.
