Pakhtuns are responsible for FATA and Baloch Sardars are responsible for Balochistan Ms. Marri’s torture and the regions backwardness..so I thought we should aim for a full set Sindhi waderos are responsible for Sindhs backwardness and the death of the Bhutto’s. The Mohajir middle class are responsible for all the ethnic deaths in karachi and Punjabi generals are responsible for the extremist mlitancy that led to Lal Masjid and Mumbai. Please discuss…
Re: Please discuss: We forgot..
We all are responsible to some extent :(
Re: Please discuss: We forgot..
Generals are mostly Punjabi, Pathan and then Kashmiri.
Re: Please discuss: We forgot..
MR.ZAKK pashtuns r responsible 4 FATA? wat do u mean by it.
if u mean backwardness of area, then i dont agree with you. region is backward bcoz governament has not spent on these areas. pakhtuns of FATA are very hard working and talented. these pashtuns r trying in settled areas and u wil find d.l.khan nd bannu dominated by wazir and peshawar by afridi tribesmen in every sphere of life.
Generals are mostly Punjabi, Pathan and then Kashmiri.
Because Punjab population makes up 66% of Pakistan.
desert birt, make it correct , punjabis make round about 54% of pakistan, not 64%. also 80% of pak army is composed of punjabis so abviously most generls will b punjabis.
Yes right desert bird - we are all responsible. Its very easy to shift the blame, and thats it what all of us do.
The Pak Army is very over-represented by 2 groups - Pashtuns and Punjabis. There are army selection centres if anyone is worried about the ethnic imbalance in the army. Everyone is free to walk through the doors and give it a shot.
The people of FATA have been in favour of keeping their tribal status. Their mess is somewhat because of their culture and political culture. Very few other Pakistanis ever go to FATA. FATA should have long been under government control and an integrated part of Pakistan. Although at the same time many believed FATA should have been a tribal area so pakhtun culture be preserved. They are allowed to do whatever in Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab yet we cant go to their regions. Due to FATA's status it was quite natural militants would hide there, then when the Army entered FATA 99% of people complained the sovereignty of the tribal areas was sullied. I was one of those who complained, and now I complain the army did not do enough.
The whole FATA situation has never been helped b whichever government took power. There is backwardness in the area because of 2 reasons - some of the tribal values/sub-cultures are impeding progress and the government has neglected these areas.
The Balochistan issue is also messed up because of the Baloch political culture and the governments messed up policies. In some of the areas one cannot deny the Sardars are not allowing progress. The Sardars themselves have a nice luxurious life whereas the common Baloch barely scratches a few things together for food. If the government arrests these Sardars then it will only just alienate the Baloch more. The government needs to set up some accountability so that these sardars are accountable if they commit wrongs, and not just for political gains. The government needs to work on building much needed health facilities, educational institutions, agriculture
Sindhs backwardness is the same reason why the Baloch are backward, except Sindh has quite a lot of agricultural land so not as poverty stricken. Those people who claim to represent democracy in Sindh are actually feudals.
In Karachi its not just the Muhajirs who are killing people but Pashtun/ANP/PPP mafia thugs and their followers too. Maybe the Muhajirs have killed more and might have started it but the others are far from having clean hands. Retaliation is only just when you retaliate against those attacking you and not just any person who you feel like.
I would nt agree that Punjabi generals have led to the Mumbai incidents, lal masjid and other militancy. Yes the pakistan army has trained them but then again so have the Americans. There are plenty of non-Punjabi generals who also are in the army. Lal Masjid happened at the time when a Muhajir was head of the army and state. There is no shortage of Pashtun, Kashmiri generals too. The army and its bits are multi-ethnic and decisions are made in that manner too.
It would be easier arguing the Punjabi elite were responsible for the backwardness in Punjabi villages.
One thing I find funny with Pakistan and Pakistanis is that we all have to blame someone else for the problem. Wecan blame the different ethnicities Punjabis, Sindhis,Muhajirs, Pashtuns, Baloch. We can blame the Shia, sunnis, ahmadis, ismailis. We can blame the feudals, the Mullahs, the right-wingers, the left-wingers, the democrats, the dictators. In my opinion they are all as bad as each other. They have all messed up.
Now that we have enough mud on us are wegoing to bother cleaning it off?
